The building looks impressive, as does most of the interior. However while the room itself looked good, there were some issues. 1. On the first night the air conditioning was insufficient given how warm it was. 2. The shower head would dip regularly despite our best efforts to screw it in place 3. The folding shower screen would slide by itself unless you found a specific spot to try to hold it in place 4. We were told that the mini bar was free (which while it did not contain alcohol, was free), and we were also told it would be replenished daily. It was not. 5. Most disappointing of all was waking up to shower in the morning, only to find there was no hot water!! When we called down to reception to advise them of the problem, they simply said they were aware of the issue, and that they had contacted someone for repair, but did not give a timescale, did not offer anything in the form of compensation, and did not even offer an apology. 6. When we asked for a slightly later checkout of no more than one hour, we were told we would have to pay an additional fee. No other hotel I have stayed at before has ever requested a charge for this. Overall, given this is supposedly a 5 star hotel, it sadly did not live up to expectations.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The apartment was better than expected with good kitchen appliances and everything was clean when I arrived. The laundry room and gym are also maintained very well. I highly recommend staying here if you're in Amsterdam!
