"Our room was great - good size and very clean. We had a fabulous view from our balcony across to the port of Amalfi. Breakfast was on the first floor balcony which also had a great view over the beach and port. Breakfast was not a buffet as we have been used to so options were limited but the coffee and staff were great! The location of the hotel was so central to everything in Amalfi town - the cathedral, restaurants, the bus and ferry stations. Highly recommend Hotel Residence in Amalfi. "

"Darn near a perfect stay. Superior location and excellent staff. The ladies did a great job of greeting us and putting us at ease while the gentlemen worked hard to bring us our breakfast and haul our luggage up and down for us. Breakfast was good and we were thrilled to eat in our room."

"This place is incredible! An amazing cliffside setting with direct access to the emerald water of the Mediterranean. However, because of its setting, there are a lot of stairs (not for those who are out of shape). There are 165 steps down to the accommodation from the main road (staff helped with luggage) and another 300 steps down to the water. That said, this is a spectacular location and a wonderful place to stay. Clean well-appointed rooms. We stayed in a room with our own deck area and private hot tub. Other rooms share a communal hot tub. Great made-to-order breakfast is included. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nearby restaurants within walking distance. Parking is very limited and driving and parking along the Amalfi Coast are tricky and tight. We drove and found parking along the road with our small car. Keep the hotel posted with your method of travel (car, driver, taxi, etc.) so that they can anticipate your arrival. Try lunch at the nearby seaside restaurant only accessible by the water (they will pick you up at the hotel dock area for free). Can't recommend this place enough."

"We had an incredible stay at this hotel. The staff were so welcoming, accomodating and answered all questions we had with a smile. They were very easy to contact through Expedia messages and helped to arrange a free luggage porter service from the ferry terminal that we arrived at (very nice inclusion, as the hotel is not far from the main road/ferry/bus area, but extremely busy during the day and could be difficult to navigate with luggage). The owner Gerry even helped us with a wine cork and a pair of glasses for us to enjoy a bottle that we brought back to the hotel on our first night. Other pluses: - the complimentary breakfast was good and coffee is made to order. - the location is perfect, right in the heart of Amalfi, provides a great base to see the city and the coast in general. - The rooftop terrace was incredible, we were almost always the only couple there. The views, the sunlight, and the sun chairs were very nice. - The hotel and the rooms are so clean and comfortable feeling. The jacuzzi tub in our room was much enjoyed. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel was quiet during the night, no disturbances to sleep. Overall, I would say this hotel is an incredible value on the coast, and an establishment run with genuine care. Go here if considering a stay in Amalfi! "

"Very nice hotel! We booked a room with an over look and a jacuzzi tub. The water didn’t stay warm enough to fill the tub, but the room was overall very nice. The views were beautiful, the staff so nice and accommodating, and breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again! "
