"My partner and I were welcomed to the family’s home by Pietro and his mother,who greeted us with a choice of coffee or fresh lemonade-we had the lemonade and it was delightful, as was the rest of our brief stay. "My friends and I loved the accommodations. In spite of the stairs I would stay here again. Elia and his mom were the perfect hosts. "Excellent location for visiting the wider Amalfi coast. The hotel is actually in San Gennaro near Praiano. San Gennaro was a lovely village/town with excellent restaurants and bus service. The hotel has wonderful views of the Amalfi coast to Positano and as far as Capri in the distance. We highly recommend booking a table for dinner on the hotel balcony, both for the view as well as the quality of the food. The rooftop pool area was a delight following a day visiting/touring the coastal towns. I cannot compliment the hotel staff highly enough for the level of service and their cheerful attitude, which is a credit to the hotel owners who themselves were equally helpful. We booked a room without a balcony which was clean (always a priority) and perfectly functional - the rooftop area more than compensated for the lack of view from the room"

"We loved staying at Open Gate!!! The staff was amazing, friendly, helpful, and made our stay wonderful. The bus stop is right outside of the hotel, and the staff helped us understand the time tables and how to use the bus. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing stay with accessibility to the business of Positano, this is a perfect place. And the restaurant had some of the best food we had! Would definitely stay again."

Absolutely beautiful renovated hotel, tucked in a more secluded and peaceful part of the Amalfi Coast, while still being just a 10-15 minute free shuttle ride from all the energy of Positano. The service was top notch. The staff were very warm and helpful, and very accommodating of my food allergies throughout our stay. Breakfast was a highlight in itself with an incredible spread with gorgeous views over the Amalfi Coast and Positano. Beautiful setting, exceptional staff, unforgettable honeymoon. Highly recommend!"
