Perfect stay

My stay at Mercure was exceptional. The staff made me feel right at home. I stay at this hotel every time I am in Algiers and are on a first name basis with a lot of the team. Sure there are some quirks that are typically dealt with immediately, but overall I have 0 complaints. I will certainly continue to make this my number one choice when I am staying in the area.

Hotel is very old almost 30-40 years, they did not change any equipment since this date. Most of rooms has awful smell, breakfast is very poor. I never suggest this hotel.

Always stay here...but always same issues... Too old... And staffs are fine, but usually do not really answer the phone for housekeeping...and once ask for bringing sth to my room, it takes more than 30mins. But still, price is just good enough and location is also fine.

Horrible experience

Rooms are very old and not comfortable. Property from outside looks good. From inside it's not good. No air conditioning, as hotel staff says it's winter. I had to open window which was noisy and sleep with minimal cloths as it was hot inside. Breakfast no food is available if you are not early. i will rather not stay with Mercure hotel in future but in other countries it's not that bad. 😞

Difficult to get hold of

I made this booking last minute due to a flight change. I was going to land around midnight and I tried calling to confirm airport shuttle and late check-in. Nobody picked up when I called the number supplied with my booking. I searched online and found an alternative number. The lady who picked up was extremely unhelpful and hang-up on me because she could not hear me well. I was speechless to say the least. I asked somebody else to call them and finally got a mobile number to call the shuttle driver although getting in touch with the hotel after landing was just as difficult! Things got better after arrival at the hotel. Check-in was speedy and Ayoub at reception was very helpful. The room was vintage and clean. Check-out the next morning was speedy and staff were efficient too. For a 4-star hotel, you would expect better service so it was a shame.

This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at! The property is dirty with filthy rooms. The service is awful with staff wanting always to quarrel with the customers! They are rude and inconsiderate and lack any training in social skills when talking to customers! Stay away from this hotel!

It is a very bad choice for the price you pay! We arrived to the airport after 24h of flight and were expecting to be picked up, we waited for long time despite the fact that we called the driver to update him about the airport check out process, and when we call him to ask where is he, he was extremely rude! When at the hotel the complaint was heard and apologizes were made with some promises, but the promises were half accomplished. The hotel lobby has mosquitos, and this only tells a lot about the state of the rest. The cleanliness was maintained but it doesn’t matter since the hotel need a very serious renovation, old stains and broken appliances makes it hard it to appreciate it. In conclusion, the issue is with the price service, it is to expensive for what you get, it deserves the price of a dormitory.
