Nice location that close to attractions in the city. And the room is neat and looks comfortable! Also the staff served me with gentle and patient manner.

Liked: Staff & service
Besides our room covered in dust, this was a great location (with free easy parking) that allowed us to enjoy the city and walk around.
Great location in a bustling little town. Flexible with my schedule and unknown arrival time as well as allowing me to wake up and leave on my own time to get an early start to my day.

I love the room I stay in! I wish i could have stay for more than one night. The owner was very
Friendly and helpful. He even took the time to print out instructions to my car rental agency in Reykjavik!
It was like staying at your grandmother‘s house and was just as welcoming. It appears to be an old single-family home that they’ve converted into private rooms. I believe I stayed and what it was once their front parlor complete with a spinet piano. Overall, it was a lovely quiet stay.
Old large house about three blocks Above restaurants, so make sure you can walk upgrade, no problem for us. Small room. Gentleman in charge very helpful. Very nice walking town, great botanical garden and old town area. Glad we spent 2 nights here.
Our room was very spacious and was walkable to shops and restaurants. So long as you don’t mind the walk back up the hill. Only complaint is the water that had the sulfur smell which in turn made the room smell a bit.

I was unable to stay at this hotel. Staff messaged me and said I was double booked. Staff said to go to another hotel and they would book a room. I was put up at another hotel which worked out. Unfortunately I am unable to confirm the reviews of this one since I never got a chance to stay there. Staff person was helpful even though changing plans and staying somewhere with worse reviews and a more expensive breakfast was unfortunate.
Very clean and warm. Mr. Gisting goes beyond the call of duty to please guests. Good location, not far from downtown. Comfortable. Quiet. Mr. Gisting knows the area and was extremely helpful during my visit. Great conversations. Thank you! Takk!
Very comfortable bed and plenty of room although bathroom a bit cramped. Nice furnishings, pleasant and helpful manager. The street is a busy one so can be noisy with traffic at peak times morning and evening as property on a hill. Also guest house is noisy as my room was on the ground floor so could hear noise from upstairs and the owners part of the house.
Also the room I had was off the lobby so people coming and going made it noisy and no privacy from the street or other guests if the blinds were up. Would suggest putting the type of blinds that can go up from bottom to give privacy in this room as all the others are upstairs.
My one night stay at FE Gisting Guesthouse was lovely! Just up the hill from the city center of Akureyri, it was a five minute walk to many shops, bars, historical/art interest points, and restaurants. On-street parking was easy to find, free, and safe. The home is very sweet and adorable, the office/lobby area beautifully decorated. The bedroom I stayed in was in the front of the house, but I did not encounter much noise. En suite bathroom with shower, comfortable clean linens, a small refrigerator, and a tv were in the room. Coffee and tea provided in the main room. An excellent value overall! Akureyri was a really cool little city, and the proximity, safety, and overall vibe of FE Gisting made it one of my favorite guesthouses in Iceland. (Also there is a public pool across the street, which I sadly did not experience! But next time!!)
This was a great place to sleep after a long day of exploring. We were lucky and got a spot right out front! Parking seemed like a bit of a challenge depending on the time. This was in walking distance to a lot of cute shops. We did not stay for breakfast but the description sounded yummy.
Great location, easy to walk everywhere you want to explore/visit. Free street parking onsite available. Super comfortable beds with lots of space in your private room.
This was a great stay right in the heart of Akureyri and close to all the attractions. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and well maintained. Great stay!
