"Three generations of family holidaying together for 2 weeks. House great, Eric very helpful, location good. More than adequate equipment in the house, loads of beds, walking distance from Saint Papoul which has a small epercie, lovely restaurant, great boulangerie with croissants to die for. Chez Alice serves coffee and other drinks as well as being the corner shop. If you want larger shops just a short drive away. "Room with box bathroom in corner smelled damp, probably because regulation extraction fan in was not working and probably never had as string tied up as when fitted. The bed had a 6 cm foam mattress on a solid wood box base so very uncomfortable to sit on never mind sleep on, but still appeared to sag in middle. No reception, 2 flights of stairs and main door left open, so less than secure. Unsafe and unhealthy."

"The apartment was lovely & spacious. Hand soap in bathroom & dishwasher tablets would have been good. Very comfortable apartment. We enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine left for us."

"Location for the medieval cité is excellent (about a 7-10 mins walk). Communication from the apartment management was also excellent which meant our checking in and out was easy. The apartment is a bit tired, however the kitchen and bathroom were both clean. Other surfaces and inside the drawers in ours were dirty but we'd taken some cleaning products with us so it wasn't a big deal. Overall would still recommend and would stay here again."

"We stayed at this property for 2 weeks in August 2024. It is a lovely house with a gorgeous pool. The host Susan is the perfect mix of present but unobtrusive. The surrounding area has so much to do, from caves and underground chasms to beautiful villages and Mediterranean beaches. Highly recommend!"

"Perfect location if arriving by train. We had a fantastic welcome and Sandra was very nice and clearly took pride in the property. The gite was spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. We walked to the old city with our 11 year old in about 25 minutes. The old city is magnificent! Having the cafe downstairs for breakfast was really easy. If we come back to Carcassonne we would hope this apartment was available."

The stairs to the upstairs bedroom were very steep so probably not suitable for very young children. Loved the stone walls and the character of the home!"

"I liked: The location, just before the bridge to the Forteresse, and with a nice overall view of the Forteresse from my balcony. A large very nice room. The balcony with nice vegetation. A really full buffet breakfast (North American style but with great croissants, etc) Staff that were nice and helpfull. I walked everywhere, from and to train station, to restaurants, to the Forteresse."

"Just book it! This is a lovely property, right at the foot of la Cite. It has a charming garden, patio and pool; and an excellent breakfast buffet. A little gem. The view out the window was stunning at every hour. The light here, whether at sunrise, mid-day or sunset, is stunning. In the morning and evening the temperature here is cool and feels delightful. Truly a beautiful spot. "
