"Perfect place for the family to relax! The house was clean and comfortable, the pond was like bath water. Great location between Ellsworth and the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park. Our group was able to split up to explore and spend time hanging at the pond wading, swimming, and kayaking. We all slept like babies in the cozy, fresh linens on comfortable beds. We will definitely be back!"

"Five stars is not enough!! This “cabin” was perfect. It is all pine floors, authentic and tasteful Maine decor, and the screened porch overlooks the lobster boats in the harbor! Our host was very accommodating-thank you, Alicia. We will be back"

"The area is pretty remote, but the path to the little beach is very cute. The views and the lobby area are also great, the rooms are just old and small. The breakfast is very basic (Walmart bagels and a coffee machine) and the staff is not overly welcoming. Has great potential but felt very basic (some ideas: some lawn games or board games to make the shared space feel more inviting, fruit at breakfast, some bathroom items, etc)."

"The Machias River Inn being my first time being there, and living in the state of Maine it was 10/10. The cleanest room that you can tell was cleaned properly (I’ve stayed elsewhere in the state and can tell when housekeeping leaves behind trash visible in plain sight it wasn’t cleaned or swept). Helen’s restaurant has the best pie and it’s right on the property. The waterfront views were remarkable! We watched seals every morning. Also not to take away from guides but honestly if you go to any beach nearby you’re going to see Seals and puffins if you don’t want to pay the cost of a boat tour!"
