Waking up to the sounds of howler monkeys in the morning was a memorable experience. Just keep in mind that having a car is beneficial. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and peaceful getaway!」

We also visited a nearby Caribbean restaurant called Lidia’s for delicious food. The beach is walking distance behind the property but you have to search for a safe spot to swim due to big surf 」

「We enjoyed our very short stay at La Bonita Lodge. Unfortunately the airline lost our luggage so we spent most of our day in San Jose buying clothes before heading down to Puerto Viejo. We arrived late but had a nice dinner at Banana Azul and then were able to use the easy to follow directions to gain access to the property and our room. The room was spotless and welcoming. We weren't able to park our car in the lot as it was full but after contacting the host we were told it was fine to park on...

「This lodge is every bit is beautiful as the pictures show. They had a young sloth on property that we saw the first day. We saw all sorts of birds and agoutis too. Staff were very helpful. Filtered water and coffee on endless supply in the dining area. The Wi-Fi on the property is good, but it does not extend to the cabins. 「I spent 1 night and it was fine for me. The room was clean. There is a fan which was good bc I don't like ACs. The mattresses needs updating bc I could feel the coils. The front desk was very nice. The grounds are very clean. 」
