"My room on the street-facing side had a great view of Shimabara Castle and the ocean. It was a very spacious room, with a huge refrigerator. There was a microwave in the hall by the elevator. There was also a tatami space as well as western-style furniture. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the castle and the bukeyashiki. There was also a top sheet on the bed as well as a comforter. "All the rooms face the sea. Our Japanese-Western style room is very big with 2 beds and comes with an onsen. Onsen is natural spring water and reasonably big for 2 people. Onsen area not too hot as it is ventilated with outside air. We paid for 1/2 board and set dinner was very good. Very happy with our stay at Iseya."

"The Whole place is old, paint peeling everywhere along with rust. Got a room with a view of the back of the hotel. The hallway smelled horrible and the "restaurant" on the top floor was reservation only and wouldn't serve us even though it was empty. Definitely don't recommend and will not visit again."
