We had a wonderful stay here and would happily return.Communication with the host was excellent—quick, clear, and very accommodating when we thought we might arrive late. Check-in instructions were thorough and helpful; note that you do need to walk to the property, and if you’re carrying luggage or snowboards it’s much easier to approach from Wiestiboden (downhill). The apartment has a full kitchen that worked well for cooking and eating in, three bedrooms (the third is small and feels like a converted closet, but our son actually loved it), and two bathrooms, which was a big plus. The living room has a beautiful Matterhorn view and a great central location to hang out.While the shower has a slanted ceiling that can be tricky for taller people, the bathtub is a good alternative. Rooms were spacious and had extra beds.Logistically, the place is very well set up for a ski trip. There’s an elevator for hauling heavy gear, the heater worked perfectly and dried our gear quickly, and there’s even a sauna (coin-operated with Swiss francs and takes a bit of time to use). It’s an easy walk into town without gear, and with ski equipment the red line bus was very convenient—we mainly used it to get to the Matterhorn Express. The location is about halfway between town and the Matterhorn Express, so neither is right next door, but both are a manageable 10–15 minute walk. Overall, a comfortable, well-equipped apartment in a great location and a wonderful place to stay in Zermatt.
