I choose Casita á Medidato for my annual think week. Ultra secluded and quite frankly so cold outside that there really wasn't much to do other than focus on my work.
As a northerner I underestimated the cold of January in New Mexico, it was approximately 6 degrees Fahrenheit or colder every morning with steady 10 to 15 mph winds then reaching a high of about 30 degrees.
The overnight temp indoors was between 59 to 63 degrees so long johns and slippers are an absolute must. During the day with full sunlight max indoor temp is 70, the home has radiant floor heat so instant heat gratification is a no go.
I loved the layout of Casita á Medida, the home is separated into 2 living spaces, kitchen/living room and bathrooms/sleeping spaces.
Killer views everyday, bring binoculars! I watched about 40+ Elk, several Golden Eagles, a few Bobcats, and even places way off in the distance.
I cooked meals everyday in the kitchen which was fully stocked with just about everything. The water is very soft and alkaline, it almost has soapy oiliness to it that leaves spots on all the dishes. Do not be alarmed that things look dirty, just be sure to use the drinking water provided or bring your own.
I left feeling grateful to have the opportunity to stay here, I'm sure I'll be back again one day soon. Maybe in the fall instead of January!
