Expansive home away from home

This beautiful property is very expansive and has plenty of space for you to have some private space away from your traveling companions ;-) My son hung out in the front lounge, my husband set up his laptop in the second lounge/dining room to work, my daughter sat in the sunroom reading while I enjoy a g & t on his back patio. A short 8-10 minute walk to the city center offers everything you can need. Plenty of restaurants even closer than that. Hosts provided a lovely welcome hamper that was very much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!

Ideal location for visiting York

A clean and spacious house in a peaceful neighbourhood of York, just a 10 minute walk from St. Peter's Gate. Tastefully decorated and clean. Only thing missing, soap,gel and shampoo! But everything else thought of. Would recommend it highly.

Great location

We were staying in York for a family wedding and there was a group of family members. We all enjoyed the house which is very comfortable and spacious, the 2 sitting rooms were a bonus so that the older members could have some space from the younger ones when needed! The short 10minute walk into the heart of York pushing a push chair is very easy and there is a Sainsbury supermarket just 5 minutes from the house. On the day we left we walked the 15 minute walk to the station from the house with no difficulty. Stays York were very helpful with requests for a cot and extra linen all of which was provided and helped to make us feel very welcome. I would certainly recommend the house to anybody wanting to stay near to the heart of York!

Lovely house,beds very good.Position excellent for walking into York.

Blind in front bedroom difficult to keep up.Dishwasher needs salt.Only one wiping up towel.garbage disposal not explained.Basic supplies,eg:salt,pepper,sugar not provided, unpleasant stain by bed in middle bedroom.Drain outside kitchen needs attention.Central heating set at 17,rather mean.

Large, accommodating space with two sitting rooms and a large kitchen!

We enjoyed ourselves here. We are a traveling with our three kids this year and this place gave us plenty of space. We were also close enough to York to walk into the town center easily. We loved York and miss it already!

Beautifully presented, well equipped house. Had a very comfortable stay. Weather was excellent and the rear courtyard was just the place for a cool drink in the evening. Excellent accommodation and having two lounges was ideal . Plenty space for all the family. Only a ten minute walk to the city wall. Parking permit included on street at property, so never needed to move car. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.

Last minute change

Unfortunately, on the day we were travelling to this property, received a phone call from the agents, York Stays, to say that we could not stay there as there were problems with the hot water, which could not be repaired for a few days. Thankfully, the agents had another property at Mount Parade available, which was of similar standard and had sufficient beds and bathrooms for myself and my three sisters, so we had a very nice time. Sadly, we never got to see St Olaves.

Very tasteful and comfotable.

The propert was perfect for us to spend family time together and to walk and explore York. We enjoyed cooking together in the large kitchen and the living rooms were perfect for us to sit and chat. The victorian fireplaces added extra warmth in the evenings . Being gas there is no mess!
