■ Features of Macchiato SHONAN
This over-50-year-old home was originally built by a traditional ship carpenter and has been thoughtfully renovated to blend modern comforts with master craftsmanship.
Spacious 16-tatami (approx. 26m²) Living Room:
Our pride and joy! Look up at the ceiling to admire the rare "Funaboko Tenjo" (ship-bottom ceiling), crafted to resemble the inverted hull of a boat. Another section features an elegant "Kabazaiku" finish made from cherry blossom bark.
Obi Artworks:
Throughout the rooms and hallways, we display beautiful art panels made from vintage kimono sashes (Obi) belonging to the host's grandmother. These are rotated seasonally to welcome you with the beauty of Japan's four seasons.
