Excellent stay. Great host, really lovely rooms and fresh cooked breakfast in the morning is a must. Great location, around a 5 - 10 minute walk to the city center and right next door to the pub. No parking on site but there is a large multi-story public parking nearby which is a good cheap option.

This was a fun and unique place. The bed was super comfy, the breakfasts were made to order, hot, and tasty. This Inn is nearby to everything, and it is quiet considering it is on a busy thoroughfare. This is the place to stay if you're starting east on the South Downs Way. Also! Don't miss their Pub next door!!!

We had a lovely stay and were made to feel extremely welcome. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. Walking distance from town and close to multi-storey carpark, which was useful. There was a great selection for breakfast and it was possible to choose what you wanted for a cooked breakfast. Fantastic, quirky stay with mugshots of criminals lining the walls and prison doors into rooms. Would definitely stay again

Small but perfectly formed room. Comfy if squeaky bed. Good brekkers. No tea making facilities in room but the dining room is available 24h if you need a cuppa. Next door to black boy pub - quirky and well worth an hour or two whilst sinking some beers.

I loved that the Black Hole had a design theme (Victorian prison) that extended to every aspect of the property. The rooms were smart. Beds comfortable. Smart new showers with very hot water. Great breakfast.
