Very quaint and retro accomodations as we expected. The cast iron side rails on the bed were a bother for an older person as myself who has to get up at least 2 times or more a night to use the bathroom. The metal base for the wooden stove is a hazard for older people at night. The tub needs a tub mat so people won't slip. The outdoor shower probably needs a door rather than a curtain or else find a way to anchor the bottom to keep from opening in the wind. We wanted to use the fan but it was very very noisy. Suggest oiling it or update it. We hope you will use our constructive criticism. Thanks. The Pachecos

Great little cabin
My wife and I stayed at this little cabin and very much enjoyed our stay. The place was one of the cleanest that we’ve ever stayed in. Even though there is a house very close by and it’s only about a mile and a half from town it feels very secluded and private because of the cedar post fence. Loved the hot tub and outdoor shower. My only dislike is the French press coffee maker. That’s on me though because I’m so spoiled with the keurig. Highly recommend this cabin.

Stop looking...this place is perfect!
I brought my wife here as a surprise long weekend getaway for her birthday. The attention to detail and unique esthetic of The Moonshiner cabin definitely made for a memorable experience. The old world charm with a steampunk flair was both fun and relaxing. It very close to Wimberly Square but still felt very private and secluded. We enjoyed the hot tub on the cool crisp evenings and relaxed in the rocking chairs on the porch during the day. My wife really enjoyrd it and didn't want to leave. The owners have really created something special. I cannot recommend this enough.

Perfect, romantic getaway cabin
Beautiful cabin, and grounds just as described. We had a wonderful weekend. The only thing I could have to say about this cabin is if you were planning to stay longer than a weekend, and like to unpack your suitcases, there is not a closet or dresser or anywhere to hang your clothes. Certainly not a dealbreaker though. Also, the neighbors dog was a little annoying with the barking, but it never seemed to last too long. We love the cabin, and will rent it again.

Awesome Wimberley Property
The cabin was great, accurate description and you can tell a lot of thought went into the design and decor. Communication with the host prior to the stay was great and we can’t wait to try all of their properties one by one! This one is 5 minutes from the Wimberley shopping area and 25 minutes to New Braunfels. Perfectly located!

Beautiful Escape

Great Couples Getaway
We spent 3 days here for a quick getaway. Everything was just as described in the listing. Only a 2 minute drive into Wimberly and around 20 minutes to Canyon Lake. Even though you are a short distance from town and the highway, it gives a very "secluded" feel. We utilized both the hot tub and fire pit, which were much welcomed with lows in the 40's each night. Highly recommend for a couples trip.

Came to the Moonshiner Cabin after our wedding for a mini-moon in Wimberley. Such a cozy, private getaway, so close to all the Wimberley activities. The hottub was a perfect way to relax and soothe sore muscles after a long wedding day & reception dancing. Loved the outdoor shower and that it had hot water too. Also such a cute thoughtful gift from Gregory and Jennifer, thank you for the card and champagne bottle to wish us well on our new chapter! So sweet!

Anniversary and F1 Race at Circuit of the Americas
This was a nice little cozy cabin that was about 45 minutes from the track in Austin. We enjoyed the hot tub and the piece and quiet. If you're looking for a little romantic get away in the woods, this cabin is perfect! If your spouse/partner has a love for wood and/or carpentry, they will love looking at all the detail put into it. Thank you for our stay!

Three day weekend getaway
My partner and i live in Southeast Austin but wanted to explore the hill country over a long weekend. The moonshiner cabin definitely made the experience even better. The weather was perfect for showering outdoors and who doesn’t love a tv that drops from the ceiling? I always forget just how adorable Wimberley is! Truly unique! Love the vibe. Very cozy.
Overall, great stay. We spent time appreciating all the decor and intricate details they have put into this cabin. Truly unique! Loved stargazing in the hot tub both nights. It's also a very short drive to everything you'll want to do in Wimberley. We even drove out to Dripping Springs, just 20 minutes away.

This little cottage is absolutely adorable! It has everything you would need. Super close to town yet private. Even with the weather so hot, the hot tub was so relaxing after the sun set. And the claw foot tub is super! I would highly recommend this cottage for a couples getaway or even a solitary escape. We are in town and also cooked in the cottage. Well equipped with what you would need. The owners communication was spot on and very timely. Only thing is the road is rugged and if you have anything other than an SUV or a truck, be careful! But that has nothing to do with the cottage or the owners. Five stars all the way!

We came to town for our anniversary and had a perfect time. The cabin was well put together clean and an absolute joy to stay at. Downtown Wimberley was less than 5 minute drive away so we were able to go there several times to eat and enjoy the shops.

This place is perfect! The attention to detail in the decor surprised me even though I scoured the listing and chose it specifically as a surprise for my boyfriend. He was excited and pleasantly surprised with the canin and that the special touches actually worked and weren’t just for show!

My husband and I stayed for 3 days to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We had planned all sorts of day trips during our stay, but decided to spend the bulk of our time at the cabin instead. Upon arrival, every detail was perfectly placed with the “roaring 20’s” era in mind. The small amount of detail in the cabin, can be quickly missed if you don’t take your time looking around. The craftsmanship on the cabin is amazing and pictures truly do no justice. The outdoor getaway is such a great way to reconnect to loved ones and/ or helps with a personal recharge from everyday fast paced activities. You’re so close to local shops and restaurants to enjoy a day out. Or you can easily enjoy a day in enjoying peaceful scenery. The hidden hammock under the shade of trees is such a beautiful touch. It’s worth every penny staying at the cabin, and can’t wait to do it again!

The cabin was everything that was advertised! What an amazing getaway that allowed us to just relax and enjoy ourselves. Town is literally a hop and a skip from the cabin and what a better way to relax than in the hot tub under the stars at the end of the night. Amazing Cabin!
I was overly excited about my reservation and it did not disappoint! Me, my best friend and my dog enjoyed every minute! Cooking in such an old fashioned kitchen was a blast and the hot tub was a blessing to get into and look at the stars every night. I am definitely coming back!
