Pay the $3 parking fee. The car beside ours did not and received a fine for $100, noted by their license plate. And easy hike from the parking lot to the upper viewing deck.

Attakulla Lodge, an old hotel, is still standing at the bottom of Lake Jocassee, under 300 feet of water. You can dive here and see a gas station and the cemetery.
