「We loved our stay here. After a horrible nine hour journey we were pretty miserable when we arrived. However, when we saw the cottage we were delighted! The pictures absolutely do not do it justice. It’s well maintained, clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfy too. We were delighted to see the goats out the front the next morning and raced out to chat to them 😀 The owners are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. If we can face the journey again we will be back and for longer! 」

「We had a brilliant stay at Codley Farm Cottage. The house was really comfortable and very well equipped. The welcome pack was amazing and very much appreciated after the long drive. We made good use of the free entry into the Vindolanda site (which is simply mind blowing) and the Roman Army Museum. 「A really comfortable weekend stay, easy walking distance to Hadrian’s Wall. The cottage is well equipped and dog friendly, the only downside was the adjacent Milecastle Inn isn’t doesn’t allow dogs inside. They do allow dogs in the beer garden which would be great in good weather but we visited in early March and it wasn’t sitting out weather. Haltwhistle is short drive away with dog friendly pubs, good Fish and Chips shops and supermarkets. 」

「I booked last minute for a cycle event in the area, the directions were easy to follow, if you screenshot them as advised, phone signal is poor to non existent (bliss) The Meadow View Hut is clean cozy and well appointed, the fire burns very warm so one of the provided logs at a time. If you can’t be bothered with the hassle of the fire, the heating is plenty on its own.
