In the process, the historic mill technology, including the wing cross, the grinder and the gear wheels, was preserved. Today, the thatched mill is listed as a relic of the traditional East Holstein manor culture and enjoys great popularity throughout the area.

The historic building is also a popular location for photographers. With a blooming rapeseed field or a glowing starry sky in the background, the mill is a frequent motif on calendars and postcards.
