Ocean Key - 1BR/1BA - Ocean View Balcony

Ocean Key Resort is located on the serene, South End of the boardwalk, offering a relaxing getaway for families. You will be steps away from the Boardwalk and Beach. Enjoy the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean or enjoy the nearby marina and Rudee Inlet.

You will also find numerous restaurant options within short walking distance, along with highly rated Waterman’s Surfside Grill across the street and Roma's New York Style Pizza and Italian restaurant onsite.

THE SPACE

This 1BR/1BA unit (sleeps 4) has a King Size bed, full Kitchen with Stovetop (but no Oven), Dishwasher, Microwave, etc. Dining table and chairs, Living Room with Sleeper sofa, and large bathroom.

Another great feature of this unit is that it has a direct Ocean View balcony. Since you are on the 8th floor you will have an excellent view of the Atlantic Ocean. It's almost like being Oceanfront, except you are just across the street. Enjoy the views while drinking your coffee in the morning or enjoying a beverage of choice in the evening.

In addition to your own personal Ocean View balcony, Ocean Key provides a large indoor lounge area and a nice outdoor lounge area on the 3rd floor. There is plenty of outdoor seating for relaxing with family and friends at all hours of the day and evening.

Guests can use the Indoor Pool, relax in the Hot Tub, or work out in the Gym. Free beach towels you can exchange daily.

There is a great game room and activity center for the kids. And Grommet Park is an oceanfront playground within a short walking distance from the facility.

Roma's New York Style Pizza and Italian, a casual dining restaurant onsite with indoor and outdoor seating, is connected to the Ocean Key Resort building. There are some additional excellent dining options within a short walking distance from your unit, including the very highly rated Waterman's Surfside Grille located directly across the street from the property. Mahi's and Maison's Lobster Rolls are just a short walk away. And there are also a number of additional restaurants nearby or located at the Marina / Rudee's Inlet.

The Ocean Breeze Water Park is within a 5-minute drive of the property and is a lot of fun for families or couples.

OLDER PROPERTY - UNIT INTERIORS

Since this property was originally constructed in the 1980's, the property overall is a little dated. Hopefully the photos provided give you a general understanding for what I am describing.

Virginia Beach is an extremely popular beach destination, and this property is popular due the location, steps away from the Boardwalk, and near the Inlet and Marina. However, that means these units receive heavy traffic during the summer months, so you could encounter some wear and tear in the unit you are assigned.

Most families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, and don't have any complaints. However, if you are a traveler that requires more upscale accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you. In that case you might be better off booking a more expensive listing at a newer property. If you have any specific questions on this, please don't hesitate to ask.

GUEST ACCESS

This is a resort hotel property. Guests will have their own private unit, but common Amenities (Pool, Gym, 3rd floor Roof deck, etc) will be shared with other Guests.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

- Primary Guest checking in must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this minimum age requirement for the primary Guest who will be checking in. Your security deposit will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.

- Ocean Key is professionally managed and operated by VSA Resorts. The Front Desk is staffed 24/7 for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance. They are there to help so please don’t hesitate to contact them during your stay.

- Please note that once you Check In and get access to your unit, if you encounter any issues or concerns regarding Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc…please contact the Front Desk / Office IMMEDIATELY. The staff members on-site provide the best opportunity to get any concerns resolved in the fastest and most efficient manner.

- One (1) FREE parking space provided per unit. Additional parking spots are available for an additional fee paid directly at the Front Desk. If you have a large SUV, the turns in the parking garage can be a little tight, however they can be successfully managed.

- Paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, shampoos, etc. are all provided. If you need more during your stay, you can contact the Front Desk and they can provide them. We have never personally had an issue receiving the supplies we needed. There are also grocery stores conveniently located within a few minutes from the facility if you want to shop for any groceries or personal items you want during your stay.

- Utensils, Dishes, and some basic Pots and Pans are provided. If something appears to be missing, you can contact the Front Desk and possibly get it dropped off (if they have it). However, if you plan on cooking a lot of meals inside your unit, or plan any special dishes, I do recommend bringing your favorite Large Frying pan (or Large Sauté Pan, Wok, Crockpot, etc, etc) for cooking. This way you will have something you are comfortable using and you will know exactly how things will cook in it. You may also want to bring your favorite Kitchen knife(s) for food prep.

- Bedding linens, Blankets, Pillows are provided, as are Bath and Hand towels. If you need additional items or want fresh bedding linens or towels during your stay, please contact the Front Desk. Although bedding linens, blankets, and pillows are provided, you may want to bring some of your own if you have a favorite pillow or blanket.

- If you plan on using the Sleeper sofa during your stay, I do personally recommend (if possible) bringing sheets, blankets, pillows, maybe even a mattress pad for the Sleeper sofa specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable extra bed. It's not required to bring your own linens for the Sleeper sofa, but something that we do personally.

- Linens can be exchanged for fresh ones every day (if desired) on the first (4th) floor. An Attendant will be in the Linen Exchange room to help, or if the Attendant is not there, just go to the Front Desk and they will assist. There should also be an extra package of linens in the closet of each room.

- There are FREE usage Laundry Rooms located on the 6th and 8th floors. However, you must provide your own detergent.

- Pool towels are provided for FREE and are available in the Pool area. They can also be exchanged for fresh ones on an unlimited basis at the Front Desk. However, if you or your family owns and likes the larger and more luxurious Beach Towels, I recommend bringing them.

- For trash disposal during your stay, there are utility rooms with trash chutes located on every floor. Just open the door and drop your trash bag down the chute. If you need more trash bags you can request those as well from the Front Desk.

- Ice Machines are located on every floor

- You should plan on bringing your own Beach Blankets / Chairs / Umbrellas / Equipment you want at the beach. If you don’t bring your own Beach Chairs, Umbrellas, Equipment, etc., you can rent them on the beach out in front of the facility.

- If you or any members of your family enjoy bike riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bikes (if you have the means to do so). Virginia Beach was designed with a special bike path along the Boardwalk to cater to bike riders. It's possible to use bikes as your main means of transportation during the week to travel up and down the Boardwalk, and around town. Remember to take your bike locks so you can lock up your bikes at the bike rack each night.

- There is a Virginia Beach Coupon booklet available pretty much everywhere in vending type machines along Atlantic Ave, including the Front Desk / Lobby at pretty much all the properties in VB. In this booklet you can find some coupons that offer decent discounts on food, entertainment, and equipment purchases (like bike rentals if you are not able to bring your own).

- Once reservations are confirmed, you will be asked for the Name, Phone Number, and Email of the primary Guest who will be checking in. This information is required to create your Guest Reservation.
