「Pros-Hotel in Lal Ghat area close to city palace entrance. Ethereal feel to this hotel. Lovely clean rooms, reception arranged late check out very helpful. Rooftop pool very nice. Great courtyard ambience in this boutique hotel, with lots of books doted around.
Cons-lots of steps to access hotel, once inside lifts available. Probably not good if you have mobility difficulties」

「We enjoyed our stay. This hotel is in the hustle and bustle of the old town. The staff and manager couldn’t be more helpful. The Aircon was good in the bedroom. The roof top restaurant was nice and food was excellent. The building had charm and character. It had been beautifully restored and the furniture was in keeping with its heritage. You need to accept that it’s an old building and isn’t sound proof. If you are a light sleeper you will be woken up by horns and dogs barking. That’s part of...

「We arrived by boat and were impressed by the welcome we received immediately upon arrival.
The hotel’s decor and atmosphere truly reflected its long and distinguished history.
It was also a treat to watch a complimentary traditional dance performance starting at 7:00 PM, and the restaurant staff treated us very kindly.
However, the staff member who escorted us from the front desk to our room spoke very quickly; even though it was clear we weren't fully catching what was being said, they...

「Only half the rooms had access via elevator. I had no elevator to my room and that also I found out after the room was assigned. Had I known that I would not have stayed there. Was strange building with really narrow tight corridors with stairs. Room rent should not have been more than 1000 Rs!」

「A very enjoyable stay at the Smiling Sparrows Villa. The charming villa is nestled in the middle of the old city and can only be accessed either by rickshaw or on foot. The rickshaw drive to-from the villa was one of my favourite parts of the trip! It is perfect for small groups. There are two double rooms and extra beds if needed. The freshly cooked breakfasts from Bhagwati were lovely and he was very accommodating with our requests. I enjoyed the selection of books left by the owners. The...

「A decent place to stay, quiet and nicely located. The rooms are a good size and well maintained. However, the staff are disorganised and do not respect standard boundaries and confidentiality. Upon arrival, we paid the hotel for the rooms we had booked. They did not provide a receipt or any record of that payment, and then chased us after check-out for the exact same payment. They contacted our family members (who stayed in the hotel as well) regarding our payments, and continued to contact them...
