"The room was lovely, we found the shower over the bath really awkward when stepping out as there was no grab handle. I loved the premium tea selection. Milk is not available in the room, but you can organise it through reception. We both slept really well as the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quite soundproof to outside noise. Breakfast was amazing. Looking forward to our next stay."

"Very disappointing stay. The hotel was extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The curtains were stained and grimy, the carpets throughout the room and hallways were old and filthy, and the bathroom was very outdated. The bathroom fixtures were worn out, discolored, and even loose. There was not even a power outlet next to the bed to charge a phone, which was very inconvenient. The room had only one small, dim light, making the space feel dark and depressing. The bathroom had no ventilation at all. The photos used in the advertising are highly misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the property. Even the carpet at the main entrance was old and badly worn, and the walls and corridors looked dirty and neglected. Overall, the hotel is in serious need of renovation and much better cleaning standards. I was genuinely shocked by the condition of the room and would not stay here again."

"I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. Location: Excellent. There is a tram stop out the back door on Collins Street. There are great bars and restaurants in the area. Staff: We were greeted warmly on check-in and offered a room upgrade which was greatly appreciated. Our bags were transported to our room for us. Check in and check out were both efficient and the staff were extremely professional and friendly. Room: The room was spacious and spotless, with a comfy bed and huge bathroom. We had one minor issue which was resolved immediately and we were given a bottle of wine for the inconvenience, which was completely unexpected. Bar: We received fantastic service in the Curious bar - one bar attendant in particular was outstanding (unfortunately I did not get her name) - and the cocktails were excellent."

"Staff were all without exception super friendly and helpful, very very good. My airconditioner heatpump in room 450 was not responding to instructions very frustrating. My daughter's toilet in room 452 was broken/blocked, moved to room 453 and the telephone didn't work. All the rooms are always clean, tidy no problems but they could do with a bit more Quality Assurance for the stuff they provide. Simple is fine, that's what we pay for, but its got to be working...."
