Great location. They gave excellent instructions as to utilizing the vaporretto from the train station. It was a short walk to the Hotel Ala where we checked in. It was another short walk to the actual very modern room at RF. From there we had easy to Saint Mark’s Square, shops all over the place and easy access to water taxis. We would definitely stay there again if we were going to Venice! It was very warm while we were in Venice and the room was comfortably cold at 21°C. We could not figure out how to warm the room up, but it wasn’t really an issue because it was so hot outside.

The room was beautiful, accessed through a very narrow alley off one of the main streets. We were able to sign into our Amazon Prime Video account on the tv which was nice for when we were in the room. The only small complaint we had is that you need to walk over to Hotel ALA to check in and out, which isn’t far but after walking 30 minutes across the city with all our bags in the pouring rain it was a bit of a hassle, and DONT FORGET YOUR PASSPORTS if you decide to leave your bags at the door with someone you’re traveling with! I had to walk back and forth twice for that reason. All in all if you like quiet and quaint and don’t need a crazy view, this place is amazing.

Nice location and safe and clean hotel!

We loved staying here! It was within a short walking distance of almost all attractions in Venice, except for the train station. It is very close to a main drop off location for the water bus. I do wish that the description specified that this property requires you to check-in at their sister hotel first, but it was maybe a three minute walk from where we were staying. No elevator and there are four flights of stairs—we were on the top floor.

We loved our room and its location. AC was perfect! Very easy check in process. The one concern we had was when we checked in we were told about a free taxi to Murano daily. We decided to do this to explore Murano, but it turned out to be a HARD sell on Murano glass. We were kept there for over 2 hours. We didn’t buy (crazy expensive) and when we wanted to go into town we were strongly dissuaded and ushered back to a water taxi. The taxi then refused to take us back to our original location and insisted we get out 28 min (walking) distance from it. We felt duped and frustrated. Beware!

Great location, lots of stairs

The room (97) was on the top floor and had a unique layout- bathroom, table and chairs, closet, hall on one level, then stairs up to the bedroom with railings all around and a very uneven ceiling, low in places. It was fancier than I expected, with large windows, interesting glass light fixtures and displays, and ample clean bedding and towels. The bathroom was comfortable. Best of all: The location was fabulous. We were absolutely thrilled to be able to run back to the room in between museums and meals to rest, snack, drop off purchases, etc. Being so close to so much of Venice was a real treat. All that being said, as other reviewers mentioned, be prepared for stairs, lots of stairs. I knew there would be, and we managed, but it was still a lot. I think there are nearly 60 to the top floor. There's also noisy construction going on in the next building, and the workers smoked constantly at the hotel door, so that smell got in more often than not. I'm glad we had some distance from that by climbing up so many floors, even if the stairs were tiring. The room smelled fine. I'd stay here again.
