「We were headed north to Durness, but the snow, dark, and road conditions required us to stop last minute in Ullapool. I made our room reservation sitting at the gas station down the street. Despite us being late and very last minute, the staff welcomed us warmly (thank you, Linda!), in less than a minute we were set up in our room. 「ツアーで行ったオークニー旅行の途中、この宿に夜８時に到着。ツアーのミニバスが玄関に着くと同時に建物の中から出迎えの声が聞こえ、笑顔の美しいオーナーが私のファーストネームを呼びながら話しかけてきてくれました。４泊５日の最後の宿でしたので、わりと疲れがたまっていたのですが、彼女のおもてなしの気持ちが伝わってきて、夫も私も元気になりました。朝食もおいしく、夫がいただいたコンチネンタルの朝食には大きなメロンの上に旬のサマー・ベリーズが３種類ものっかってました（ラズベリー、ブラックベリー、いちご、ブルーべリー）。ひとつだけ残念だったのは、バスルーム付という表示を見てダブルの部屋を予約したのですが、割り当てられた部屋の中にバスルームがなく、部屋を出たすぐのところ（階段の踊り場）にある私たち専用のバスルームを使わないといけませんでした。使うたびに服を着て部屋を出るのが面倒だったので、予約サイトでの明示が必要かと思います。こうした不自由はありましたが、次にUllapoolに泊まる機会にも泊まりたいと思う宿です。」

「Rowan Cottage is a super cute place to stay. It is nestled in the forest which would be a great place to explore if I brought my little ones. (Next time for sure). When we entered it was nice and toasty warm. The lounge and kitchen had everything we needed. The house directions/expectations were easily found. Loads of space and I will definitely be back for a longer stay. Thanks!!」
