Ground level, fenced-in yard, dog-friendly, tall ceilings and extra large windows allowing tons of natural light to pour in. The home now offers 2 full baths and an additional "water closet!"
Full of art from local artists and vintage finds, comfy furniture and best of all the extra large screened porch with rocking chairs. Truly a southern charmer of a home! This home is a historic home, and the homeowner has added an additional full bath for a total of 2 1/2 baths! Yet another unique feature of our home! This is half of the duplex with Enlisted Men's Mess Hall on the other side. Both sides are quiet and have private/separate entrances. Need space for a large family? Rent both sides!

An excellent location on the north side near the lighthouse. This historic cottage (and former Mess Hall) has a delightful "secret passage" to the beach. Not only did this place feel like a home away from home but mermaid rentals went above and beyond in their communications- they are incredibly friendly, warm and inviting which is so welcoming after a big day of travelling. The rental was spectacular, cozy, bright and FULL of character, the decorating really made it feel like a relaxed vacation and the walk to the beach was very short. I could truly go on and on about our incredible experience here, but I’ll leave it at saying it’s the type of place and experience you’ll tell people about, you’ll have wonderful memories and you’ll be just waiting to book the next time around. It's a cute property on the north side of the island, which we prefer because it is quiet and peaceful, but only a few minutes' walk to the North beach. It is always spotless. And it is very spacious. The interior is exactly like the pictures in the listing. Really cute. The Mermaids are friendly, accommodating and responsive. We are already planning to be back sometime in November-December and again in March.

Every time we see something we hadn’t noticed before. Lots of thought has gone into the furnishings. Tammy has always been amazing! She always makes us feel special. She quickly answers our questions and helps us out. The cottage is within a short walk five minute to North Beach. It’s always spotless. We love sitting on the front porch and relaxing before and after a day at the beach. Truly a magical home away from home! We have our reservations for next year and can’t wait to return.
