💡 Other things to note 🐾 Our Dog-Friendly Approach We happily welcome well-behaved, house-trained dogs over 1 year old to join you. To ensure a comfortable stay for everyone and protect the cabin, please message us with your dog’s age and breed upon booking so we can confirm suitability. A $100 per stay pet fee applies (unless otherwise noted) to help cover additional cleaning. Our official limit is 2 dogs, but let us know if you are bringing 3. We appreciate you ensuring your furry friend treats the cabin gently, as guests are responsible for any damages beyond normal wear. Please use the designated outdoor pet area and help keep the space clean by picking up after your dog. Waste stations may be provided for your convenience. A friendly note for guests with allergies: This is a dog-welcoming home. While we thoroughly clean after every stay, this may not be the most comfortable environment if you have severe dog allergies.
📝 Helpful Cabin Information ✔ We welcome guests 21 years of age and older to book and be the primary renter. ✔ To ensure everyone’s comfort and safety, please make sure your guest count matches your reservation. Unregistered guests may incur an additional fee ($25 per person per night) or require adjustments to the stay. ✔ To ensure a peaceful experience for everyone in the area, we kindly ask guests to observe quiet hours between 10 PM and 9 AM. ✔ Help us keep the wildlife wild and safe! Please store all food indoors and secure trash only within the provided bear-proof bins. Leaving food or trash outside can attract bears and other curious critters. ✔ For safety reasons, do not feed or approach any wildlife. Feeding bears, in particular, puts them and humans at risk and can have serious consequences for the bears. ✔ Enjoy the cozy ambiance of the electric fireplace during the cooler months (operational October 1st through March 31st). ✔ Fireplaces are shut down from April 1 – September 30. ✔ For your safety and per local regulations, open flames (including candles and unauthorized outdoor fires) are not permitted. Unauthorized fires will result in a $250 fee plus damages. ✔ The hot tub is for guests 21 and over only. Alcohol and pregnancy-related use are prohibited. Use the hot tub at your own risk. ✔ Towels, linens, shampoo, soap, and toothbrushes are provided for your convenience. ✔ While we stock the basics, please remember to bring your favorite coffee, K-cups, condiments, dish sponges and food storage items like zip locks to make your stay perfect. ✔ We trust you’ll treat our cabin with care, just as you would your own home. Please note that guests are responsible for any damages incurred during their stay.
✔ Early check-in or late check-out may be possible for a fee depending on the cleaning schedule. Please inquire in advance.

The cabin was great! It was just perfect for the two of us and our little dog! It was very clean and we had no issues. The location was perfect for getting into town day or night!
We stayed here in October during the fall colors, they were amazing. We travel with our 2 dogs and this space was very accommodating. A cute cabin in the woods with everything you need for your stay. It was close to town and to Cades Cove. Easy access to Gatlinburg if you choose the busyness of the town. The hot tub was relaxing after a day of hiking. Beds were comfortable. We would stay here again.
We LOVED staying in Townsend! The restaurants were phenomenal and we loved being on the more peaceful side of town. The cabin was super clean and the host was great with communication. Highly recommend!
We made a last minute trip to Townsend to get away. Great location, clean and well stocked cabin. Exactly what we needed. Love that we could bring our little dog.
This was a great property that was central to all of the activities we wanted to do. Beautiful cabin that was clean and had everything we needed. The host is very easy to work with and the check-in, check-out went smoothly. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you, Derek, for your hospitality.
The cabin was as advertised - quiet and cozy! Very quiet area in the rolling hills and woods. A cozy look and interior made us comfortable. A relaxing atmosphere here and in the surrounding area, especially the city and people of Townsend.

The cabin (Take it easy) and the host were absolutely wonderful. The host is very attentive and the cabin was everything we had hoped it would be. Clean, comfortable, accommodating, bed was comfortable, kitchen had everything you would need and the hot tub was great after a long hike in the mountains. We look forward to returning. Thank you Derek for having us.
Exactly what my wife and i needed. A wonderful clean cabin with no issues. I recommend Mountain Mist Cabins wholeheartly... except when we want to come back.. then yall stay away so one of them will be available for us.
The cabin was great (exactly as pictured)! Very clean. Hot tub was relaxing and the rocking chairs on the porch were perfect for coffee drinking. Our son loved the lofted area and we all loved that our black lab could come with us on vacation. The beds were comfortable, and the cabin had all the essentials we needed. Oh and the arcade game was fun- I’m not sure if my husband or son liked it more.
Tucked away in the perfect spot. Just minutes away from several amazing restaurants and stores. The cabins hosted my family of 4 and our 2 dogs and it was the perfect size. The hot tub was the best to end the day. Kids took full advantage of the arcade machine and loft area and the dogs really enjoyed the spacious porch. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Derek made it super easy to extend our stay an extra night too. Will definitely be back to rent this cabin. Easy to find, no steep drives!
We had a wonderful stay in this cabin. Every room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen are a nice size and there's also a loft with room for another couple or children but we didn’t need to use that space. We loved relaxing in the hot tub every night in this peaceful setting and the arcade game was a big hit. Playing the games brought back memories from the 80's for us. We highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed!
Came for the Jeep event and just to have a few days away. It was wonderful. Our host was amazing. Description was on-point. We were hauling a trailer and it was easy enough to get our truck and trailer into the drive. Worked perfect. Hot tub and video game was a plus :).
Nice getaway for our 28th anniversary. Quiet neighborhood. Only issue at no fault of cabin owner, is that neighbor cabin let their large aggressive dogs run free. We were charged by one twicetwice. Thankfully neither time my pup was outside. Please leash your dogs!
We had overall a very nice stay. There was, however, a mouse that had gotten into the kitchen. The owner sent an exterminator within hours of us contacting him and refunded our cleaning fee after we requested it to be refunded. All the exterminator did was place another trap (rather than close any holes), and there was already a trap behind the stove; so needless to stay the mouse was an extra guest throughout our entire stay, and unfortunately something we had to think about during our trip - not something I wanted to have on my mind during vacation! Other than the mouse droppings, the cabin was meticulously clean. The hot tub was awesome - really nice to use after a day of hiking. Also nice to have the guest mode on the Roku TVs to watch shows on our own streaming services at night. The tree outside the cabin was blooming, and it was a nice, quiet area. As I mentioned, Derek was quick to respond. Check in and check out were easy.
My husband, daughter, two dogs, and I stayed at the Take It Easy cabin together. It was a very cute and cozy place and I loved the location! The host is wonderful-very attentive and responsive. The cabin is one in a small group that shares a driveway and has a small, shared laundry cabin. We were able to get our laundry done with ease and there was plenty of room to park beside the cabin.
As the host mentioned in the description, the stairs to the loft are narrow and steep so it’s not a sleeping area I would recommend for very young children or older adults. However, my 23 year old daughter had no issues at all sleeping up there and I was easily able to get up and down when needed.
There is a spacious bedroom and bathroom on the main floor. We also enjoyed the arcade game and the hot tub! The hot tub is located on the front porch with plenty of privacy as the host has enclosed the area with lattice board.
We love Townsend! If you’ve never stayed in the area, but enjoy peace and quiet and good local restaurants, you would love it.
Many thanks to Derek!
