Private and Peaceful

The house was perfect for our group. Plenty of room and everything you needed. So beautiful sitting on the back deck looking through to the water and listening to the birds. 2nd time I have stayed at the property. I would book this house again when visiting friends in Toogoom.

Quiet location on the beach

Overall a great place for a family or group holiday. Very disappointed that the internet was not working. Lettinging agent tried to fix problem with no success. From previous reviews this has been an ongoing problem. If you need WIFI as we did I suggest you book somewhere else.

Property stay was fine apart from not having wifi for our whole stay when it was meant to be included. Didn’t get computer work done that was planned..

The location and deck are perfect but …

We stayed for five days at the end of March 2022. It’s probably a fine stay for a couple of days. For longer stays I’d keep looking for something more comfortable. Pro’s - the location, deck, and beach chairs were great. We loved the water view and short walk to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked. The company was easy to communicate with. Con’s - the advertisement didn’t say no air conditioning!! It should mention that important detail. Also, the lack of air conditioning made us have a huge ant attack in the bathrooms by day four and day five was even worse. There was ant spray, but we have a small child and I have cancer. I didn’t want to spray while we where in the house. We rented linens, as the ad says no linens. We were visiting from out of the country. The linens cost $70 for a queen bed and twin bed, which includes three towels. No beach towels. I was so surprised at the cost, and when we got to K-Mart to buy beach towels—I quickly realized we should have just bought linens at K-Mart for a fraction of cost. I The layout of the house is a bit odd since their are no interior walls that connect to the ceiling. Thankfully we didn’t spend much time watching telly, as you can hear everything in the main part of the house. We separated from the kids visiting us by being outside and then inside or vice versa. There are camera on the back deck. I didn’t read that in the add, but you should know there are cameras. The refund policy is a bit steep at 50% loss if you cancel 30 days before your booking.

Shshsh, don't tell anyone

Absolutely loved staying at this property. On arrival the house was quite warm and my husband straight away went looking for the air con - there isn't any. We quickly found that the elevation of the property, combined with great window screens and ceiling fans cooled the home very nicely. The house is very spacious and well appointed so we were able to cook easily. The very short walk to the beach was made many times and it was nice to find folding beach chairs in the outside laundry, which we made use of. We cleaned out the birdbath in the rear yard and enjoyed some great bird watching from the balcony, even had some possums visit the trees one night. The under cover carport was high enough for our loaded up 4WD. I ended up buying some dishwasher tablets as none were supplied and whilst some appliances were a little quirky, they worked well -tip: Push the dishwasher door twice to ensure it closes properly. Overall, whilst it is a good 20 minute drive from Hervey Bay, it is wonderfully peaceful between the Kookaburra laughs.
