"It’s in a good location in that you can walk into Sidmouth, and there are lovely walks in the Byes the park.The host responded quickly when we had an issue with a door. The big challenge is the parking as without my husbands blue badge we would have struggled to park anywhere near, I would worry that in the season this would be even harder. The house is well equipped, and the bed is comfy, I agree with previous comments that the sofa is not comfy, and some areas need an update. I think also that it should explain that there are steps at the front door, and the stairs and the bathroom access are tricky, we just about managed them as 70 yr olds, but I think they would also be tricky for a toddler. Sidmouth is a lovely place to visit ."

"Whist being a small room. It was warm clean and facilities were great. Bed and pillows very comfy. "

"There was no check in instruction. I had to make phone calls after driving 3 miles to find a signal. No internet. "

"Property ok lots of lovely areas but several issues we were not happy with. Entrance to property overgrown with vegetation, muddy pathway and steps slimy and slippery . Spent the first hour cutting back the overgrown plants and clearing and cleaning the steps and pathway to make them safe and more pleasant for our 6 day stay. Garden a big let down lawn full of weeds and borders all unkempt. Unable to use the outside sofas as not pleasant overgrown with plants and weeds in the paving. Leafs and dirt in the patio area. Not nice to sit in or look at. We did do some clearing up which helped but should not have to do this. Gutter downpipe blocked so guttering over flowing badly when rained heavily. We cleared the gutter down pipe to stop potential damage to the property while it was raining so hard. Rain shower in main bathroom temperature control not working scalding hot unable to reduce the temperature. Toilet seat in main bathroom very loose. Downstairs shower room not pleasant due to discoloured and limescaled shower doors etc.. needs renewing. Washing machine but no dryer as advertised. It was a great shame as the property has so many good points and beautiful furnishings and in a great location. We paid approximately 200 a night and expected more"

"It was fine - but a huge amount of money for what it was. Given that the property was billed as ‘four-star’ and ‘luxury’, we were expecting a lot more. The television didn’t work properly. The internet was very unreliable. The shower door wouldn’t close. The mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable, and the duvets were cheap and nasty. The place wasn’t in a great state of repair (including a leaking tap in the kitchen and a window that wouldn’t close) and wasn’t particularly clean - the floors especially were filthy. The place was also like a sauna as the heated towel rail had been left on (and it was 28 degrees outside), and it took us a while to figure out how to switch it off. There were also none of the little touches you’d expect in a ‘luxury’ place, such as hand soap in the bathroom, or washing up liquid/dishwasher detergent in the kitchen. The kitchen was extremely poorly equipped with just four of everything - cups, plates, glasses, bowls - which meant we were constantly washing up. None of this is a disastrous - but it’s not acceptable when you are paying luxury prices. Perhaps what you are paying for is mostly the location - but maybe stop billing this as a ‘luxury chalet’, because it definitely is not. "
