"The house is massive and super cute! Lots of space to sleep and hang out. Full kitchen (cutest tiniest oven ever), and free washer/dryer with soap provided. Bathtub has an automatic heating feature which was super cool coming from a Canadian who has never seen this before. Super close to the ferry port. Fairly accessible by public transport from Hiroshima airport. "

"Perfect place to stay in the middle of the Shimanami Kaido bike ride. Very warm staff. Excellent breakfast. Excellent views. Bike-friendly place with beautiful grounds. We had our own "cabin" with ocean view. We were given a ride by the staff to and from an island restaurant for dinner."

"Worst night of my life. There was an alarm bell going off 5 times during the night, so I hardly had any sleep at all. When I finally gave up and left at 5am, there was nobody in the reception, otherwise I would have demanded a full refund."

"Phenomenal service and gorgeous location. There was a downpour of rain when we arrived and the staff prepared four umbrellas for us to receive us and walk us to our room. The room was spotless and we had a great view of the lake."

"It’s a stone throw away from the station. Initially went to store my luggage since I arrived earlier before check-in and both my luggage were sent straight to my room when I came back in the evening. Hotel may look dated but everything works well and it’s a comfortable stay."

Staff were helpful in answering questions, even if our ability to communicate was limited ;)"

Very nice hotel, very convenient when arrived at or leaving Hiroshima airport. Provides good amenities. Breakfast is good, too, unless you expect a huge American breakfast.

This hotel is unlike anything I have seen in Japan. It has California/Palm Springs vibes thanks to the modern open air architecture, white washed clean buildings, amazing indoor/outdoor flow, and fantastic location right on the water.
We stayed in one of the private cottages which face the water and we had an unobstructed view of the bridge. Despite being about 50m back from the waters edge, our cottage had an amazing breezy and almost tropical feel. Thanks to the very cleverly laid out...

A beautiful room in a beautiful hotel. So very close to the JR line station (200 meters door to door), easy access to the rest of Japan via the Shinkansen Trains, a great hub for exploring Western/Southern Japan. Only 30 minuets to Hiroshima, 2 hours to Osaka, and under 5 hours to Tokyo.

The property was exquisite and the view was wonderful. Also, the breakfast was the best and the staff can't be beaten. This hotel was within close walking distance of the train station and trolley. This made navigating very easy.

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Some spoke English very well. Breakfast buffet was outstanding with traditional Japanese dishes along with American style items including a cook to order omelette chef.

I have been attracting by Setouchi Shimanami Kaito bike touring for a long time through Taiwanese cycling enthusiasts. At age 75, my wife thinks I am crazy. I booked two nights at Suminoe for 6/17 and 18. The spacious room with ocean view and bidet toilet are very impressive. Miss Wang who is in charge, is very intelligent. She suggested and drove me to the Ikuchijima bike shop to rent a nice one. I started around 9 AM in light rain and stayed cool. No trouble going across Tatara Bridge, but...

This location is right next to Saijo station - an excellent place to stay with quick access to Sakagura street to visit all of the sake breweries. My only complaint is there’s only one elevator for the whole hotel so for events like the Saijo Sake Matsuri it takes a long time to get to and from your room, and the breakfast area becomes very crowded. they do have a washer and dryer which I used twice very convenient very efficient. The coffee maker was broken for two of the three days I stayed so...

Overall excellent, great room, great view, great dining. The hotel is very new. Just make sure to book the south tower hotel. Be aware there are hotels under the same name at the train station, this one is the south hotel.
