I am writing this letter to express my profound dissatisfaction regarding a recent VRBO rental experience in Tahoe City, California. I had anticipated an enjoyable and relaxing vacation, as is typically expected when one invests in a reputable rental service. Unfortunately, my experience was substantially marred by the condition of the rental property, which was far below the standards I associate with VRBO.
Firstly, the overall cleanliness of the property was unacceptable. The windows were visibly dirty, both from inside and outside. In addition to this, the outdoor furniture was filthy to an extent that rendered it unusable. We spent over an hour cleaning the patio and patio furniture on both sides of the house as well. These conditions not only disrupted the intended experience of my stay but also raised health concerns.
My dissatisfaction continued with the discovery of a dirty barbecue grill. It was clearly not cleaned for quite some time, rendering it unsuitable for use. This is an unacceptable oversight, especially considering that barbecue amenities were advertised as part of the property's appeal.
In the property description, it was stated that an iron would be available for use. This was not the case upon our arrival. The absence of this basic amenity inconvenienced us.
Furthermore, the refrigerator unit was in need of maintenance. Both the air filter and water filter still required replacement, despite our reporting the issue.
