Highly disappointed
I am being asked by the Booking System to comment about my stay in the flat. We were a family of 5 and stayed 4 nights. Most of the information given by the site and or the owner is misleading: the flat is extremely noisy in particular the bedroom overlooking the street. The vehicle traffic is incessant ( probably one of the busiest streets in Historical Ortigia) and a restaurant across the street plays terrible music ( incl live bands) until midnight. There is no noise isolation with the existing window panels even when using earplugs. Prior to booking the flat, I asked about noise nuisance. The answer I received in writing was that the flat was "quiet"!!!! The so called outside terrace with table and chairs is located in a small courtyard full of extraction pipes and with terrible smells of frying oil of one of the 3 restaurants in the basement of the building. In addition lots of noise coming from the washing of kitchenware from the open doors of the kitchen downstairs.The flat is marketed for 6 people: there are only 4 mugs and 4 coffee cups. Hot water runs out after 3/4 normal showers due to probably the fact that it is a small water tank. Last but not least, when the sofa bed is used as a bed, it occupies the whole space of the living room. The use of the running balcony overlooking the street is hazardous since I was hit by a piece of stone falling from the above balcony while standing there.
