We had a wonderful stay. Great restaurants. Only issue was with the noise inside the room from the heating unit. Disturbed my sleep, otherwise we enjoyed the stay.

Everything about the Swanendele Inn was exceptional: the location, the accommodations, the facilities, the decor, the hosts, and, not least, the breakfast. In fact, you could spend several days just exploring the remarkable antiques and artifacts around the place. However, what made the strongest impression was the fiery glow of dawn though the pine trees outside our balcony every morning in the Margeret Brent suite. Rhododaktylos, "The rosy-fingered dawn": I never understood the true meaning of that phrase until I saw that.

We have stayed here twice now and we love the location. It’s quiet and has beautiful views. It is always clean and the staff always accommodating. The only reason for a less than perfect rating is that the building and appliances have seen better days. For example, the shelf in the refrigerator is missing, patches of drywall never painted over, couch with no back cushions that were obviously there at one time, a microwave in a foreign language - French perhaps, the tv got very few channels and was like a static antennae instead of cable. A little investment for an update would go a long way.
