Charming and Spacious 2 bedrooms basement less than 5 miles from downtown Stafford, breweries, restaurants and Rappahannock River for kayaking and tubing. Quantico marine base is 10min away and Washington DC is 40 miles.
Private entrance to basement with 2 queen and 1 Twin beds. Free street parking.

Owner communicated promptly, check-in was great, furniture and appliances are as pictured. There were no windows in the bedrooms, which creates an egress issue in case of fire. The apartment faces a very busy/noisy road so using the fire pit or outdoor area would be difficult. With only two windows for outside light, I would have liked the shade on the window next to the bedroom to be operable. Several slats were broken and there was no way to open it lift or lower it.

Communication was great, their was a problem that the owner reached out about then fixed prior to our stay. A few little maintenance items, like blinds and fixing the entry gate would make this place a 5 star for sure!

Great stay

Our son “graduated” from Marine officer training and this was a great place to stay. It had everything we needed ( we did not plan on cooking, but were able to bring in take out) and was located close to Quantico. It was an easy drive to DC for a day of touring the Mall as well. The family that lives upstairs was quiet and friendly.

We had to move the microwave since there was no place to plug it in. A few nite lights would be nice for safety getting to the bathroom at night, since there is no windows in the bedrooms, or bathroom. We had a comfortable stay!

Nice property within an hour of DC and attractions

We were looking for a place to stay outside Washington DC since the hotels and parking in DC are so outrageous. (Valet or offsite parking often adds $40 or more to each night at a hotel) Our daughter lives on Capitol Hill, but she was glad to come out to stay with us since our visit wan't dependent on being there. We were a little less than an hour from downtown DC, an hour or less from Shenendoah National Park (depending on which entrance you used), only about a half hour from Fredricksburg, within about 10 minutes of the National Museum of the Marine Corps (SO SO great to visit!!) and right next to Quantico Marine Corps Base if you are visiting someone there. I think someone mentioned it being close to Appotmatox also, but we were so busy seeing what we could, we never checked the distance on that. So, this property is perfectly situated for a great weekend away to visit many historical sites, or even DC proper without breaking the bank on hotels! The property itself was lovely and just like represented in the pictures. It has a dorm size fridge and microwave for quick warm up or storage of restaurant leftovers, which suited us fine! The hostess was very responsive to inquiries, and checked in on us when we arrived to make sure everything was good and we had what we needed. We had a wonderful stay and we would stay here again if/when we come back into the DC area
