The laundry area is off a hall which leads from the kitchen to the screened porch.
The porch was designed for making memories with friends and family while eating Lowcountry Boil, playing board games or a fierce competition of Charades. The dining table can be easily extended to allow seating for 10. In quieter times, enjoy the breeze while reading in the comfortable seating and listening to the crickets chirping, the horns of the ships arriving or leaving the Port of Brunswick and the waves crashing on the beach.

There is also a dehumidifier system which provides superior air filtration to the entire home and dedicated moisture control which keeps the house dry and extra cool feeling. New recirculating tankless hot water system.

More about the historic aspect of the house:
The house was originally constructed in 1867 for the Episcopal Vicar who traveled around to parishes in the area. It was located at Gascoigne Bluff (Epworth) near the entrance to the island. Later in 1988, it was disassembled (each board and brick was numbered and labeled), moved and rebuilt at its current location. The rich architectural details include original heart pine floors, reclaimed brick, wood and original windows. The stunning bay window in the front contains the original hand poured glass. The daisy chain etching on the front entry door pays homage to the motif behind the altar at Christ Church. Stars are another motif throughout the house thus the name, Morning Star. The original star can be found on a rafter tail on the front porch. The architect/owner of the house who moved and reconstructed it added more stars and the current owner carried on that tradition in the most recent renovation.

This house is absolutely wonderful. The furnishings and how the house is decorated is spot on. All the bathrooms have been updated beautifully and the two bathrooms on the second floor are very spacious and nice. On our first night one of the smoke detectors started to beep after midnight and the property management answered the phone and came over right away. They also sent someone over right away the next day when the electronic lock on the front door malfunctioned. The location is fantastic. Very walkable neighborhood and close to the beach.
My only suggestions I would have is other properties we have stayed at had coffee available. There is a coffee pot but no supplies. Also, as a hot tea drinker, a tea kettle would be very much appreciated. Heating water in the microwave just isn’t the same. Lastly, the yard is nice but small and if there was a way to have it fenced it for those traveling with a pet, that would be great. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would stay at this location again.
Beautiful old historic home in the heart of everything
This home was super charming. If you love old homes (restored obviously) then this is for you. The screened porch was used daily, the neighborhood was great, quiet and walking distance to most things. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms upstairs were beautiful.
We stayed here for a long weekend and absolutely loved it. The house itself was super cute, clean, and well stocked. We had plenty of space and the house itself was very cute. It was a 5 min walk to the beach and to some cute restaurants and a short drive to downtown. Would absolutely stay again!
