Welcome to the Mermaid Cottage! This beautiful home is one of three cottages situated on one property known as The Compound. Located 2 blocks and a short 1500' from the scenic beaches of St. Simons Island and steps to restaurants and shopping, the Mermaid Cottage is a 3 bedroom 1-1/2 bathroom home which has been updated perfectly for you and your group!

This charmingly remodeled cottage built in 1937 will wow you from the moment you step inside! The fully stocked galley style kitchen has been updated with custom kitchen cabinetry, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen even offers a breakfast/coffee table for two. From the Kitchen, step outside to the screened porch which has a outdoor dining set with seating for 4. Get cozy in the ample sized living room featuring exposed wood beams, tongue and groove ceiling, HD cable TV and a fireplace. Guests of the Mermaid Cottage will be treated to three comfortable bedrooms featuring TV's in each bedroom.

This home shares access to the on property 800 square foot (40'x20') swimming pool, regulation size sand volleyball court and children's playground swing and slide set. These amenities are shared amenities with the other two cottages on The Compound property.

Any group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants. Events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, etc are not permitted.

Bedding Includes: 2 Queens, 1 Daybed with trundle.

Lovely Cottage

We enjoyed our visit to this cottage. We found the proximity to the beach to be convenient. We enjoyed having access to a pool and putting green. There are a few issues to address with the property-door latches, tub faucets and faulty lighting.

Small house but great location

We stayed here for spring break. Really great location and a good price. It says it sleeps 6, but it is a tight squeeze - the house is less than 1000 square feet. Nicely decorated, but the bathroom needs a few updated fixtures - the bath tub is old and the faucets are coming off. The outdoor space is great - lots of room and a swimming pool. Easy check in and check out process. We would come back.

Cute house, great location

This is a well appointed cottage with a lot of character. While small it is very functional and it’s proximity to the beach and to the East Beach restaurants is great! The house could use a little maintenance (mainly the faucets in the main bathroom bath, which are a bit hard to control). And while there are multiple remotes around the house only the main TV worked properly.

charming clean modern cottage

My sister and I planned a get away to St. Simons Island and rented this fabulous cottage. It was perfect for our needs. It is very close to beach access, shops, restaurants and the lighthouse. The kitchen was modern with granite and new appliances. We had everything we needed.
