Arrived late night to rental. Entering properly, we saw a very large palmetto bug on its back and still alive. Too big to stomp. It was amazingly fast when my husband tried to and did catch it. We than found 3 more dead ones on the floor in the back bedroom. I contacted Brent via messages to let him know. He didn’t respond. Within 30 minutes we found another large one, alive, in the bathroom. Caught it and tossed into toilet. That one I took a picture of. I sent Brent another message stating what we found and that I was having a hard time imagining myself sleeping here. That every light was turned on and I was unnerved with this. We were leaving. It was 11pm. Brent responded this time, immediately. Apologized. Said the condos were recently sprayed. He promised to make it right. He offered to refund me for 2 nights for the inconvenience or he’d refund me the full amount if I didn’t wish to come back to stay. I told Brent I’d take the full refund. That it was too soon and out of my comfort zone to come back and stay. A few days later I received two refunds. My last payment was refunded in full. However, my down payment, which was my first payment 6 months ago was not a full refund. It is almost $382.00 short. I’ve reached out to Brent, asking for an explanation. He hasn’t responded. I’ve reached out to VRBO and they too haven’t been able to get a response from him. So I’m now leaving this negative review. I’m extremely disappointed in this lack of communication on his part. Also, while we are at it, he states in his description that the condo has been UPDATED. This isn’t true. I’ve stayed here twice in 2019. The condo hasn’t changed. He really needs to take UPDATED out of his description. Nothing has changed. We really liked the location and were willing to accept how the condo is. But we never had bugs until this visit. Now I just want my FULL refund. As Brent promised.
Disappointed with condition of condo. Disappointed with Brent’s lack of communication. Disappointed with VRBO for the first time. I’ve been renting properties through VRBO for over 10 years. VRBO need to look into Brent’s properties.
