Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome; hotel in a great location and the room was spacious with a wonderful view, specialist diet/allergies catered for on the varied breakfast menu. Clearly the hotel is being refreshed under new management for 2026. We managed to park each time, but imagine it could be more difficult in high season when things are busier.

The room was adequate for my needs. Clean and basic but had all I needed. Had breakfast the first morning which was very nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay again.

The room was tired and dated. Windows need replacing as you could hear every car go past. Heating was too hot and on full whack you could save money here. Water pressure was awfully low. Breakfast was very good, service brilliant but the kitchen door was banging every time and you could hear this even from the bedroom! Hurt our ears to listen our room was 110. You should consider a swing door for the kitchen! Wouldn’t return, but the hotel has so much potential the view is stunning and here’s hoping now it’s been taken over you’ll be able to succeed with a refurbishment

The water took forever to get warm ish - never had a hot shower. Staff was limited, but friendly. We asked for clean towels on our way out in the morning; they never arrived…we picked them up ourselves at the front desk, after dinner.

Room 102 lovely but very tired, peeling paint, mould and a year of dust in the bathroom, dressing and bed area clean, very draughty by the beautiful windows, sash cords missing but they do provide a lump of wood to keep window open if needed, also thick in dust peeling paint and mould …. Stains on the carpet and walls… needs a lot of money spent on it, breakfast was fine, some nice staff others couldn’t be bothered… perfect location!! Would I stay again? Yes , but would take some cleaning products

Room was in poor condition did not match pictures on advertisement. Understand this was a budget price, but the room condition was very tired, walls were stained and water damaged. Shower was useless. Reception and breakfast staff were ver pleasant

The room was awful, dirty and grubby. The carpet had big holes all over and was so dirty I had to use the bathroom towels to cover it so I could walk on it!

The lobby’s and dinning areas where clean and nice but the room I was in “21”well it needs to be taken out of service, all the wall was showing mould had been there previous and just painted over, pipes in corner of room had mould and rust pulled the bed out away from wall covered in mould, carpet had holes in all over, bed mattress and base needed throwing away. Can’t say anything about other rooms as I only had access to the room I was in. wouldn’t stay here again. If I could upload photos I would :( :(

A two night weekend stay, quiet time of the year so was allocated a larger room than booked which was very much appreciated. Booking in and out was simple, staff were pleasant and room was clean and comfortable. No complaints, would happily stay here again.

The hotel is situated in an ideal spot, very close to the town and a number of beaches. The staff were excellent and the hotel was very nicely decorated ready for the xmas period. The breakfast was absolutely excellent with everything piping hot. Parking at the hotel is very poor but there is local car park parking by the train station a short walk away (albeit up a lot of steps and up hill). The hotel is very dated and the rooms themselves need redecorating and brought up to date. Compared to other hotels and B&Bs this was very cheap in the area and maybe you understand why when you see the interior. We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting family in the area which was ideal, but if you had booked it expecting a nice modern hotel you would be disappointed.
