Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre

"Our room was unrenovated - which is absolutely fine, the beds were comfortable, the room was nice and clean. The TV channels were great. We had a fridge and microwave which was clean also. The staff were so friendly at reception, the lifeguards at the pool were happy to help with any questions. What was less then satisfactory, the room was damp (mind you it was sweltering outside and the room was so nice and cool) but the carpets and bedding felt a little damp. The hallways and arcade were absolutely SWELTERING. Like so hot that I thought I could pass out. The pool area was the same - the only saving grace was that you could go in the pool. A friend of ours had a room that was facing the pool and said that their room was humid - which made it uncomfortable for them. There was some construction going on as well above us and they started knocking around 9am. We were made aware of this upon arrival. Also something to mention, the side doors of entrance A, were unlocked. Anyone off the street could enter - which to me was a safety concern. There was a homeless man walking around the parking lot. My friend who I was travelling with had their car broken into."

"Awesome location, lovely staff and clean for the most part. The property needs updating but I found my room clean and comfortable. The bed could be better but the decor is not horrible. When I needed something everyone was very helpful... from the matienance man... to the desk staff... the breakfast people and cleaners...very friendly and courteous. I think this property is going through a transition and it is a shame because I find this an affordable little gem right on the Lake. So much potential!! The views...walks, the park, the sweet little beach where you can swim if it posted safe! I was surprised I could afford it and enjoyed myself dispiste the little things."

"Staff were incredible and grounds immaculate. Shout out to the wonderful maintenance man (sorry never caught his name). Such a joyful pleasant soul - had his work cut out for him this morning opening the pool full of debris from last night’s storm. Absolutely a beautiful soul. Already planning next year."
Best Western Plus Waterfront Hotel

"Check in was quick and easy and the room was nice and clean and came with a great view of the Detroit river and it’s just across the road from the waterfront in case you feel like going for a nice stroll and walking distance to the casino. My only complaint was I didn’t know they were doing construction on the floors above me, and although the noise wasn’t too bad, it still woke me up earlier that I had planned. Other than that, I would still recommend this hotel"
