I hate to write this review since Desmond and Anthony were great. Desmond agreed to a full refund without any issues, and offered me a discount on my next booking if I chose to book again. I’d hate to potentially hurt their business, but I feel I have to warn others that might travel to stay at this hotel like I did and be completely let down as I was. After traveling all day I arrived at the hotel at night with no electricity. I was met by Anthony and was told that they were doing maintenance and the power would be back on shortly. We walked to the back of the resort to where the room was and I noticed that all the rooms in the buildings were empty and either under construction or being remodeled. The place looked abandoned and I did not feel safe staying there alone. Anthony told me they were a separate entity from the rest of the resort and that it was safe, but I still did not feel safe and decided to try to find somewhere else to stay. I was exhausted but after driving around some I decided to go to a hotel I had stayed at before on a previous trip, which I was not happy to stay at again but at least it was clean and safe. This threw another wrench in an already complicated and troublesome trip I was already having and was not the way I wanted to start my first night. Unfortunately, and unrelated to this hotel, the next night I became sick and stayed sick the entire time in DR which turned out to be dengue fever which I’m still dealing with now, so it was a nightmare.
