"When I originally booked my stay, comments from previous guests described the decor as old and outdated. I found the opposite. The building is old (German poet Schiller once stayed there), but the room was modern throughout with walk in shower and staff very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right on the market square in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of everything. A farmer’s market is in the market square in front of the hotel several times a week as well as a stand with Thuringian bratwurst. A tourist info center by the market square next to city hall (Rathaus) was very helpful. I highly recommend the Adler Hotel in Rudolstadt."

Das Fleisch war von hervorragender Qualität und hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt.Die Gastgeberin war ausgesprochen freundlich, hilfsbereit und jederzeit erreichbar. We arrived late evening so the restaurant was no longer open and there is no place close by to get snacks or anything. Had drinks in the bar area which were really good but having a pizza oven or something to heat up or make some appetizers would have really made it better. Staff were very friendly"
