"The property is a delight. The manager, speaks excellent English, and his wife were both so friendly and helpful. The property is in a quiet location near beautiful Sotorua Beach. It is so calm and relaxing. Shimoda is a short bus or taxi ride away or a 30 minute work. There is only one restaurant within easy walking distance and it is excellent. Suggest upgrading to a room with a private outdoor bathroom. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay."

"Very good location for surfers and general beach goers. Easy 2-3 minute walk to the beach. Nice outdoor space to relax on site. Rooms are fine but basic. No extras but they will accommodate reasonable requests. A few restaurants nearby but limited. Have to go into Shimoda center for variety. ¥2,000 by cab each way. Lots to like in this area though. Surfers get both ends of the beach, nice breaks on both. Not crowded. Rentals available at the pension and many other places nearby. Overall a decent...
