Lovely facilities and beautiful place, snack bar great, food tasty and fresh. beach was perfect, however staff were a hit or miss, bistro, not great service or choice of food, Rooms were not very well decorated and charged for tea/coffee making facilities. Shower was good and breakfast really nice. Need money spent on rooms and a bit friendlier staff and not a fan of the salt water pool.

Very noisy - rooms towards the road are not recommended. Unpleasant neighborhood - very pricey for this quality and season - app 180€ for a family room - which does not invite to stay longer than one night. For one „emergency“ stop ok - breakfast and service is good. As a couple with see view I would give 3-4 stars - as the area is not nice …

Everything was excellent. The check in was great very friendly staff. Only complaint: we checked out and wanted to hang out by the pool and beach until our departure time. The lifeguards were very rude. Would not let us sit on the chairs and refused to give my son a towel. We stayed there! They should have treated us like guests.

Good food but the hotel is in need of a renovation

Had a superior room on the hillside. According to the hotel’s webpage, these rooms are in the upper floors of the hotel, but mine where in the second floor with a “spectacular” view of the parking lot on the opposite side of the road, and the proximity to the road made sure that there was quite noisy in the daytime and so the balcony was useless. The room generally needed renovation and the glass walls of the walk-in shower were no longer tight, so water leaked out on the bathroom floor and into the bedroom. The superior room did not feel superior in any way, just like a standard double room with a need of renovation. That being said, the hotel staff was friendly and the sushi restaurant was very good and can safely be recommended. The breakfast buffet was also good, so I guess this is the kind of place you would go to eat but not to stay.

Good, but….

The hotel is very good, excellent swimming pool and very near to the sea…. Comfortable bed, nice shower and a good breakfast, but it looks like they forgot to add a bar when designing the hotel! The bar was a little shack manned by too many staff that stuck to their job only. When the “man who only grilled food” appeared at the till… his arms went up not my job. When the ‘till guy” took 5 or 6 orders at a time, he didn’t help the “drinks person" and then we had to wait for the “serving person”. One last thing, when we ordered bottle of wine we didn’t expect it to be already opened! When we complained at the time, we were told that was the wine measure. Not impressed.

Fantastic stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Mare Hotel in Savona and would highly recommend it. From the moment I arrived, the reception team was incredibly kind and welcoming, setting the tone for a great visit. The hotel offers three restaurants, and the one I dined at was absolutely lovely. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere added to the experience. My room was exceptionally spacious, with a large bathroom, plenty of fresh linen and towels, and top-quality toiletries. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like a great selection of coffee and tea, as well as a well-stocked fridge. The balcony was a perfect spot to relax and watch the world go by. One of the highlights of Mare Hotel is its direct access to the beach, making it incredibly convenient for a seaside escape. The town center is just a 20-minute walk away, easily reachable via the road or a scenic stroll along the beach. As a female traveler, I felt completely safe throughout my stay. The hotel’s environment is secure and welcoming. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Savona.

The property was nice, but the rooms need updating. The rooms do not look like what was on the picture when we were booking. This is not a 4-star hotel, more like 2-stars as far as the amenities and room condition: just a basic example, a 4-star hotel should have glasses in the room, instead we were given two paper cups and there was 3 of us. The second day we were there, we were left clean linen, but had to make our own bed, it was just left on the bed. Staff was friendly though

Beautiful hotel! Super clean, great staff and perfect spot on the beach. Room was large, so clean, everything i needed and a sea view. Breakfast was included, great selection of fresh food. Quick 10 minute bus takes you into the old town from right outside the hotel.

The bus pass is the only reason we stay here. They never upgrade and the beach isn’t attractive and the incoming tide is polluted, but hiking nearby is very good. The pool is ok and keeps kids occupied. The restaurants are strangely expensive, we tried one last year and poured our own wine, though $20000 bottles were on the menu. Front desk had no information to share about bus or hikes. Which if fine though unusual for so many stars. The breakfast is ok but coffee line…ugh…just serve the coffee please. We decided next time to take the extra train and stay closer to hiking and a cleaner beach.
