My husband and I spent a month at Laureen's home. It was located in an older residential neighborhood of homes built in the fifties in Savannah. The neighborhood was quiet and was a great get away from the hustle bustle of downtown. The house next door was undergoing a house flip renovation and it was interesting to see the progress over the month. Although they were busy remodeling, they were very conscientious and not noisy.
Laureen's home has a small kitchen that includes everything you need to make a meal. There are 3 bedrooms that were nicely decorated. A huge benefit to this home was the comfort of the King Size Bed. Being away for a month, a comfortable bed is important. There was a lovely formal dining room set up for an elegant dinner party. It is also a great area to set up PCs if you are working from home. There is a big backyard with a patio. If you have an animal, there is plenty of room for walking in the yard. My husband spent time watching his sports on the patio. There is a big screen tv in the family room that has cable tv and the bedrooms have individual ROKU tvs. There was a laundry room off the patio with a washer and dryer.
The location was great as it was only 4 miles to downtown and about 12 miles to Tybee Island. We visited "Forsyth Park", "Tybee Island", "Hilton Head Island", took the "Savannah Queen" Brunch tour and visited the "Oglethorpe Mall" several times. Some of the restaurants we went to were "Carey Hilliards" in Savannah, "Hueys" downtown Savannah, "Crab Shack" in Tybee Island, "Tubbys Tankhouse" in Thunderbolt Marina, "Tequila Town" in Sandfly, "Cracker Barrel" in Savannah "Waffle House" in Savannah.
Finely, I appreciate our host Laureen who was extremely responsive. We had some questions about the trash pickup and the lock on the door. Laureen responded immediately and resolved issues. Also, there was an issue with the cable before we arrived, and Laureen arranged for repair the day we arrived. She also gave us recommendations of some restaurants to visit while in Savannah. Also, I appreciate Kate who greeted us on arrival and showed us around the home.
In summary, this is an older home that is lived in and not fancy but very comfortable. The price was affordable. If i return to Savannah, I would certainly stay here again.
