Quaint But Needs An Update

Check in was easy, even though we were reached out to the day after about our place being ready via text. The layout itself is a bit odd, but it didn’t bother us. The bathroom in the floor is very very weak, and needs replacing immediately. I did reach out to the rental agency. It looks painted over and the paint is already weathering away. Husband spotted a nail popped up in the bathroom as well. We wore shoes when we ventured in that room. The bunkbeds were a hit with our kids. Some of our linens did have some yellow permanent staining but you could tell they had been laundered. Location was awesome, we walked to the beach most of the time but to get around town we rented from the golf cart pros. One of the cabinets glass windows were missing in the kitchen. There’s a keurig, silverware, cups, etc. The home is on a small lot and we could see our neighbors very closely when they mowed. I wish there was a curtain on the front door window for privacy. The neighborhood is quiet during the day. I do think there should be an handrail on the steps for older visitors. We received a nice welcome tote from the rental agency. Overall, this place is very promising and has the basics of what you need. A place to stay (for singles, couples, or small family) for a couple of nights for a great price. It has a lot of potential and I loved the vintage aspects. It just needs a little updating and TLC.

Good stay bad floor in bathroom.

Floor in bathroom is very weak and cracking around toilet. Needs work now. Looks like it .has been painted over to conceal bad wood. Everything else was very good for the price paid would stay here again if that was tepaired.

Great location and rental

This was a great rental. The location was ideal, as I did not have a car. Was convenient and quiet. The house is a nice beach house, with a good layout as well.

Such a great home & location!

The only thing wrong with our stay was that it wasn’t longer! The home was in a fantastic area, within walking distance to the beach and the strip! The home was clean, cozy, welcoming and just perfect for our family. We will definitely be reserving another trip at the Whelk Come Inn in Tybee!

This place has it all!

Perfectly appointed and adorable bungalow. Side yard with patio, grill and separate laundry/bathroom-house added to the space. Wonderful kitchen area. The owners thought of everything to make this place perfect for a week at the beach!

A little too "rustic" for the price

This home is very old and outdated, was not clean at all upon arrival. Bad smell the whole time. It's dark and closed floor plan with unfinished concrete floors. Mosquitos were flying around in the home the whole trip. We got eaten alive even though we made sure to close the doors quickly.

Great surprise! Loved the ‘extras’!

This is an amazingly comfortable house with a fantastic kitchen! This allowed us to easily cook a meal or two & make use of the grill & back patio. We were pleasantly surprised by some of the unexpected extras- beach chairs, body boards, and cooler for a day trip to the beach at Tybee! The location near Forsyth Park was nice for morning & evening walks. Easily walkable to dining, shopping, & church. We’ll be back!

Excellent location, comfy stay for 2 -4

Cute historical home. It was comfortable, clean and just the right size for 2 to 4. It is located at a wonderful spot to access the beach, AJ's for a sunset and fresh seafood and the shops and pier.

Perfect rental for families with small kids

This property was even better than advertised. The kitchen and overall space was perfect for families with small children and the outside shower and laundry facilities were so nice! Would definitely stay again.

Most favorite vacation home ever!

Everything about this house is super cute- so clean, vintage style, all in family, including teenagers, absolutely loved their stay here. The “shed” holds the washer/dryer and also has a toilet and shower that my husband used. It was so handy having that extra space. Small yard and patio perfect for playing games and eating/grilling outside. Location was perfect for walking to beach and restaurants. Nice, quiet street. Will definitely stay here again :)

Vacation in Tybee

The house is really old but very clean. The beds were comfortable with nice tvs to watch. There is missing curtains and neighbors can see in the house. You cannot turn the ac lower than 70 so running the fans is a must. The sink and shower back up in use so you need to use each quickly. It was nice to have a shower outside and plenty of towels, so everyone could rinse off before entering the house. I loved that we were walking distance to the beach and to town. This is a true beach house. We would rent it again

Location, location, location!

Walking distance to the beach and off street parking! A vintage cottage with tons of charm and very comfortable surroundings. Well stocked kitchen and lovely outdoor space.

Rustic Beauty!

I absolutely loved this place. I will be honest, it is not going to be for everyone. It is updated, but an old cottage. So if you're used to the Marriott or something like that, it may not be your cup of tea. But the charm is exactly what I loved about it. It reminded me of my grandmother and great-aunt's home with the hardwood floors and old school metal door knobs. It is clean and cozy and the kids loved the bunk beds. The location is awesome. It's 1 1/2 blocks from 3 separate boardwalks. One to the Atlantic, one where the Atlantic meets the inlet and one on the inlet. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance. We would definitely stay again!

Great house near the beach!

We had a great time at this cozy house. It was easy walking distance to the beach, convenience store, restaurants, and coffee shop, and the house is clean and comfortable and adorable. Look forward to staying again next time we're in Tybee!
