"Hotel were always friendly and polite, helped with an early check-in following a very early flight. Room was perfect for what we needed, small but clean with a very comfortable firm mattress and hot shower. Only slight negative was one english tv channel on tv, would be great if netflix could be added. We walked into the centre every day but it does have a tram stop right outside the hotel. I reccomend cascara for coffee. Husband used the gym a couple of times, limited but fine for a quick workout."

"Tonight I stayed at JOST Hôtel Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean in Bordeaux, which cost £80 per night. Everything seemed fine when I first arrived, but I was extremely disappointed once I checked into the room. The room design felt like a small box — very cramped and stuffy. One thing that really surprised me was that the sink was placed right next to the bed, which made the space feel more like a compact cabin than a comfortable hotel room. The bathroom had a transparent glass door, which meant there was almost no privacy. This design might be suitable for young couples who are comfortable with that setup, but it’s not ideal if you are travelling with friends or simply prefer more privacy. There was also no place to hang clothes in the bathroom. After showering, you either have to leave your clothes on the sink outside the bathroom or on the bed. That means you may have to step out of the shower and walk outside to get dressed, which felt quite awkward. Overall, the layout and practicality of the room did not work well for me. Unfortunately, this is not a hotel I would choose to stay at again. One positive surprise was the breakfast the next morning. It was actually very good, with a nice selection and much better than I expected. "Reception was welcome and easy, room was good size and lovely choices for breakfast. However improvements to the pillows and beds need to be made. Also the woman working in the breakfast room was abrupt, rude and simply not a nice person. "

"Absolutely loved my room, it was spacious and had a huge tub (my main reason for choosing it) and balcony! I also loved the eclectic interior design scheme. The staff were really lovely and welcoming. Furthermore, I loved how convenient the transport links were, especially as you can get a tram directly to the airport! It only gets 4 stars as the WiFi was only working for 1 out of the 3 days I stayed there and I couldn’t use my Roku, but the winter Olympics were on and I enjoyed watching that. I would stay here again and I would recommend!"

"Very convenient for us as a stop over. Amazing baker’s right underneath for the best bread. The communal areas were lovely and well maintained but the room was a little lacking (although for £57….) bathroom was a bit basic. Was handy having kitchenette facility. "
