About this property

Casa da Terra Alta

  • Casa da Terra Alta is for families or small groups of friends looking for comfort, quiet, and the freedom to experience Pico at their own pace, whether that means rest, adventure, or a bit of both.

Built from basalt stone and nestled in a lush garden, this Azorean home offers a simple, warm welcome, inviting you to slow down and enjoy unhurried time together. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable, with nature close by.

The location provides quick access to hiking trails, natural pools, swimming areas, and viewpoints, whether you're after restful days or ones spent exploring. A spacious balcony overlooks the garden and the sea, with São Jorge on the horizon. The kind of place where mornings linger and evenings end with a sunset.

More than a place to stay, Casa da Terra Alta is a retreat for making memories and settling into island life.

We had great stay, a fabulous place to sit and enjoy the view in the evening. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. Bed linens and towels were of good quality, not always the case in some places we have stayed in. Erica was a lovely host; you could tell she cared very much for the house and garden. We would recommend Highland Homes to anyone going to Pico Island!
