Demitri was soooo attentive and helpful. He engaged with our tour guides to make sure everything was in place for our tours. He also arranged our rental car and a spa day in our room. The breakfasts were wonderful, overlooking the caldera with delicious, fresh food each morning.
There were only a couple of drawbacks. The outdoor tubs are NOT heated and the indoor tubs are really just large showers. There is no stopper for them to hold water. One of our days was very overcast and cool and I really craved a hot bath or hottub time. Using a handheld shower nozzle while standing or sitting in a giant bathtub was not comfortable. Additionally, while the bedroom cave was cool and comfortable, there was no bathroom upstairs. This meant traversing a curved stairway if you had to get up during the night. We managed ok, but if you have medical issues that require easy bathroom access, you may want to ask if they have units with bathrooms on the same level.
The rooms were clean, the breakfasts were amazing, and the staff went above and beyond. If we had visited during the hottest months of summer, such as July and August, the tub issue would probably not be a problem. ALMOST perfect!
