Beautiful 3-bedroom Lake Front Home on Lake Santeetlah

"This home is beautiful! We’ve stayed on Lake Santeetlah before and absolutely love the lake and surrounding area. Having a private dock with kayaks and paddle boards available for use really made the trip more enjoyable. The house was very well stocked and made our stay easier and more comfortable. Beds are very firm, but that may be preferred by some. A bit more attention to cleanliness was needed in a few areas but it wasn’t enough to disappoint. We would definitely stay here again! Note for Tail of the Dragon visitors:Driveway is steep but doable with a truck and trailer. Parking is tricking if you have more than one vehicle or multiple bikes. Something else to consider is the paved road leading to the house is patched using gravel. Other than that we had a great experience getting to and from the tail."

"Property was nicely located near the marina and quick access to the dock was a highlight. Home was spotless when we arrived and had most all items needed for our stay. I will say signal can be spotty upon arrival and hooking up to WiFi, so write down the entry code before you arrive to be sure it’s available. Patio has a nice view of the water and is screened in for enjoyment. Floor plan is very open! Host communicated very well and was pleasant to interact with! Driveway is steep, as all are at Santeetlah, but this particular rental has the nicest driveway I’ve seen amongst my stays. I was able to enter and exit pulling my boat without having to back up, which was a great benefit! Having access to the dock was so nice to leave the boat in the water over night. We really enjoyed our stay!"

"First the good. The view was spectacular and the house was lake front. There were lots of water toys (canoes, kayaks, etc) available. The dock was very nice. The house was clean and neat. The showers had good water pressure. As for the negatives: The house was very dated for the price. There was no dishwasher and we were required to hand wash the dishes and wonder what kind of job the previous renter did with the dishes (We washed them before using in case). The bathroom doors are pocket doors with no locks, so privacy was an issue. One of the pocket doors was broken when we arrived, but I managed to fix it. I also had to fix the handle on one of the sliding glass doors. There window treatments were cheap horizontal slats. It was impossible to get the room dark at night."

"The property was perfect for us. The constant view of the lake special! The kitchen well equipped and accessible lake toys nice. The neighborhood dogs a little chatty but only during the day. I recommend this property and hope to stay there again."

"Mathew’s Mansion is an adorable house that is nestled in the trees. We truly felt like we were staying in a little treehouse. We enjoyed the porch area while sitting in rocking chairs, listening to sounds of nature and drinking our coffee. You can see through the trees to the lake which is absolutely beautiful. It was so peaceful. We appreciated the kayak to use on the lake. You can transport it on your vehicle to Cheoah Point Beach, a few minutes away to put it in there. The beach has a swimming area, picnic tables, a short trail along the right side that leads to a large rock that everyone jumps off and incredible mountain views. At night, we loved the large deck to grill. It was also neat to see the twinkling lightning bugs around us. The inside was the perfect amount of space for a small family. There is a queen bed in one bedroom and a full size bed in the other (not a twin). The window air conditioner in the living room does a good job keeping the main area cool. The bedrooms have ceiling fans but bring 2 smalls fans for extra air. We also brought air fresheners. There is no TV or WiFi but we had fun playing board games and spending quality time together. Robbinsville is about 10 minutes away for groceries, etc. We also went to Bryson City, 40min away, to hike the Deep Creek Trail, go tubing and swim in the waterfall. Then, we walked around their neat shops and ate dinner at Tuck and Table on the river. We will definitely stay again. Marsha was great! Thank you!"

"Perfect getaway and perfect location on Lake Santeetlah. The the home was spotlessly clean and had great outdoor spaces for sitting relaxing outside with a beautiful view of the lake. Communication with the host was the best I’ve ever had. She texted me to let me know the room was ready early just in case I was interested in checking in early. It was the perfect location for enjoying activities on Lake Santeetlah and also was in close proximity to many great hikes. We will definitely be returning!"

"We visited the area with our daughter and son-in-law so we could watch our grandson and let them enjoy "Miatas at the Gap" over at Fontana Village Resort. It was fine for what we needed - a place to hang out, eat, and sleep and a home base for the guys to repeatedly drive The Tail of the Dragon. We especially appreciated the converted walk-in closet in the downstairs room our 2 year old grandson loved having his "comfy-cozy room." The fire pit was nice, the kitchen was well appointed, and parking was ample. But, the home could use some updates - the furniture was dated and the rooms were a bit cluttered. And there is no walkable public lake access - we had to drive to a public beach. But, all in all, it was sufficient."
