This place was really nice and we enjoyed our stay. That said, there were a few issues. First, on multiple nights we had black bears turn over our trash cans and we spent three different times cleaning up garbage from the driveway and putting it in the cans. (while 1 mile from the beach this is in a preserved nature area. We were truly shocked that 4 black bears were literally walking the streets on the first night). We called and reported to the property manager as well as South Walton wildlife. The property manager was very responsive and even showed up the next day to put bungee cords on the cans. It was a good idea, but bungee cords are no match for the bears 🤣
This property is beautiful and it served our family well. We did not feel we were in danger, but it was a major inconvenience a couple of nights to be picking up trash while on vacation.
The handle on the freezer was broken when we showed up and one of the chairs in the living room was missing a leg.
This place is really nice. We would stay here again.
1.5 miles from the beach. We were able to Drive over and find parking every time we went to the beach at the San Juan street access.
