For swimming fun, you can choose from the St. Margarethen bathing pond, the public swimming pool in St. Michael, or the bathing island in Tamsweg. In St. Margarethen im Lungau, you'll find the Katschberg-Aineck ski area, offering 70 kilometers of slopes and 16 lifts. Skiers and snowboarders can also enjoy three other ski areas in the Salzburg Lungau region: Grosseck-Speiereck, Fanningberg, and Obertauern, with a total of over 200 kilometers of slopes. The town offers numerous shops for everyday needs and a good selection of restaurants. The state capital of Salzburg can be reached by car in approximately 1.5 hours.
