My family and I spent the week at this villa (Beach Front) unit. Having grown up coming to Sanibel for more than 20 years, we were very excited to start our vacation. When we arrived, the unit was not clean from the previous guests, food in the refrigerator, sheets and towels on the floor, dirt and beds not made up. After speaking to the management company, they apologized, sent the cleaners and credited us back 100.00.
Each morning were were awakened by construction (roofers) at 7:30 with the sounds of their nail guns. Additionally, we were competing for parking (only 5 parking spaces available for the guests) with sometimes up to three construction vehicles occupying these spots. With the other construction going on in the unit downstairs (New cabinets one day, granite the next, dry-wall and painting another), this was what we were trying to get away from when booked our vacation. We normally stay at "Shell Island Beach Club", but there were no units available for the week we were seeking.
The unit itself was recently updated and outfitted with nice tile throughout, updated kitchen and bathrooms. The privacy door between the living room and the master is a thin sliding stackable door, not private at all (too much sound and light coming from the living area). In addition, the TV in the guest bedroom was also not functioning. I can not say enough about the view and the shelling but I would not rent this unit again due to the events that took place during our stay.
Upon our departure, the same cleaning folks approached us and asked whey were were checking out early, I stated we were scheduled to check put on Saturday. He proceeded to show me his cleaning schedule, the management company had us checking out on Tuesday. Hope to folks coming into that unit did not arrive to an unclean unit.
